So, coming from Northern Ireland, I bank with the Ulster Bank. They have been having some sort of 'glitch' in their system which means that money owed to its customers (me!) isn't being credited to their accounts. They have said that they will not have it fixed until next week at the earliest. The only way I can get money is to go to the bank with some photographic ID. Problem is, I don't have any. I have literally no food, precious little electric and no heat. I am supposed to be going to contact with my youngest daughter this week (she is in SS care) and it is her 16th birthday on the 8th, so I need to have money to be able to give her a present. I can't. I really do not know what to do! And, on top of all this, my Fibro has flared to x100 and I really cannot do anything. I'm at the end of my tether. Literally.
Help! (I know you cant actually help, but I feel better getting this off my chest...)

Can you ask for a crisis loan of some kind ? Or contact the payment office and ask if they can send your payment by giro to cash at a Post Office.
I don't know how things work where you are ,or if they are the same as in England, but they surely can't leave you without money for food, that's just barbaric .
I think it's a disgrace that the banks have left people in this mess, and once they have it working again they should compensate everyone.

I cant get a crisis loan because I got one a few weeks ago (typical, ain't it?) and they won't give out a giro because the money is already in the bank, it just isn't showing up as credit! Barbaric doesn't cover it! <sob>
i was there three years ago and understand exactly how you feel hope my pvt message helps you. petal
I had the same problem with both of my accounts (1 with rbs and 1 with thinkbanking) last week. Both my gas and electric are on meters and i had actually sat without electric for over 24 hours! Ive got 2 boys aged 5 and 6 at home and knew i couldnt go on like that so I rang and spoke to them nad they said that they could credit my account with some emergency funds and take them back when my account had actually been credited with the money that wasnt showing.
They also refunded this months managenet fees as compensation. A whole £15 for mucking up my accounts for nearly a week!
Maybe it would be worthwhile ringing the jobcentre and seeing if they would fax the bank some proof that the funds have gone into your account even if they arent showing yet. Maybe you could try that and see what they say? You could also going on a website that i know of that is kind of like a charity comparison site in hat you put the details they ask for in and it gives you names of charities that can help you for individual things such as anything ranging from household items to bills. Ive used it in the past and i have to say it was invaluable. Message me if you want the name as im not sure im allowed to say it on here. I hope this helps.
Love and gentle huggles
