I have been in constant pain since October and was told it was Fibromyalgia,as I had many symptoms and tender points. Last week I went to rheumatology, and was told I also have rheumatoid arthritis. Have been on medication for fm,which hasnt helped a bit,but was given a cortison injection last week at hospital, and couldnt believe how I felt the following morning. I had no stiffness or pain and havent had for a week, I feel as if I've got my life back. I cant believe the difference. After spending alot of time in bed because of pain, I've managed to clean the house from top to bottom, and catch up on months of housework, which I feel would still be impossible if I still had fm. Anyone have any thoughts on this. Thanks x

Thanks eveyone for your comments. Christine,my hands and knees have been of most pain recently and had been showing early signs of RA,the lumps in the joints have gone down so much so that they can hardly be seen. The rest of my body has different degrees of pain, going from the base of my skull down to the soles of my feet. Rheumy also had xrays taken to see if the RA is affecting any other parts of my body. The fibro was diagnosed through the usual tenderpoints. I had similar syptoms of fm 2 years ago, which lasted for around 6 months but then disappeared, and that was put down to reactive arthritis due to a viral infection. I have also been given medication for RA and will keep you all posted on how this affects my condition. Take care everyone. xx
