Ive been on this site for a few months, and Im absolutly disgusted how badly people have been treated, whether it be in the work place. claiming benefits, or fighting for the the care they need
It makes me wonder why it is that while Race, Religon,Gender, age , class , size etc, are deemed illegal, we can still be treated this way, this government needs to get its act together.
They re taken the benefits from the people that can least do without them, while the fat cats get fatter. theyve cut the money social services get, I know alot of the people around here that worked for them were made redundant, its all such a farce

Totally agree lally . My son, who is autistic is at present sharing our one bed bungalow , having moved here when I got married. We live in Hampshire which is ridiculously expensive. I approached the council to ask if it was possible for him to get accommodation and they've told me he'd be entitled to £64 a week . That wouldn't even get him a toilet here.
So we asked about 2 bed house or bungalow , 7 to 8 year waiting list ! We can't afford a 2 bed place here privately as the rent would be upwards of £700 a month and even with partial help from HB we couldn't afford that .
The bungalow we live in is due to be demolished , the landlord owns this house and his mum owns the house next door . We have a room at the back that's a small scullery and we told by the council there may be a grant available to extend it into a bedroom , however the landlord would have to give us a guarantee of a 5 year tenancy , his mum informed us today she won't allow that as she wants both places sold asap.
I'm quite upset because we've been pretty good to her and her husband, they are both elderly and during all the snow Rich clears their drive, looks after their animals while they're away etc and yet she obviously has no regard for us at all.
The council won't offer us any help at all, and I can't help wondering , if we'd been immigrants seeking assylum if we'd have been offered more help. I'm not saying immigrants , or anyone in real need , shouldn't be helped, but it would be nice if we as native Britains were offered help too. Instead we've hit a brick wall so my son has to continue sleeping on a sofa bed for the foreseeable future.
On top of that I'm waiting to hear if my DLA will be renewed and as it's taking ages I can guess what the answer is going to be.
I don't need all this stress
things are fine as long as your well and able to work but god help you when you cant, everyone then seem to forget about all the taxes we ve paid. talk about kicking a dog when its down
Ive got a 26 week wait to see a surgeon about my hand, Im not ill enough to claim dla even though Ive been given a wheelchair and have the local council paying for care.

I totally agree with you, Lally. disgraceful state of affairs. I still think that MPs should spend a week at least in the shoes of a claimant, living their life.
Mind you, no matter how much the Govt puts towards welfare, it seems that the Welfare State cannot afford to give as much help as it used to. Aneurin Bevan would surely be turning in his grave
I have Fibro, c2 Subluxation Acute torticollis, & I have a Bi-Polar condition. All due to accidents 2 within 10 months in-between. I have applied for DLA answer NO I have applied for Blue Badge answer NO. I am a married to my wife who also has fibro and between us we get the princely sum of bugger all. How far can I walk without severe pain answer I can not walk without experiencing severe pain. MPs a waste of time, no one cares about us why have we with Fibro not got a voice its a painful disabilitating disability surely we should get the help we surely deserve.
same here no dla, how far can I walk without pain, I stand up and Im in pain, if I walk I spend days in pain, no not an ache , severe gut wrenching pain. as for getting money , my hubby had to give up work early last year, due to a breakdown, and my illness, for 3 months we had no money, they could sort out esa, then jsa they could give us any as he d finished work himself, even though he s 56 and worked since he was 16, not a penny. So at the grand old age of 56 he s set up his own business, and its doing well, so thanks to the government he cant care for me, thats now left to my 13yr old daughter, and a personnel assistant which social services have to pay for, think Ill turn to drink I hear alcoholics get their money
Hi lally, yes it truly is a disgrace hoe people are treated. I've often though if they suffered for a month as some do it might change their opinion. as the saying goes..."Don't judge my journey till you've walked my path" so very very true, just because someone looks physically fir doesn't mean they are. total utter discrimination...but what can be done?? Seems no one wants to listen
