Hi I use morphine tablets ones that release constantly over the day and top ups when they do not work ( I sound like a junkie) they do help but do not take the pain away completely! xxgins

Yes Ginsing. I am on the same prescription - 30mg tabs and 2 PARACETAMOL ev. 6 hours with occasional back up with DIAZAPAM 2mg as required. My results are like yours. Having tried the usual range of drugs and patches over the years, I find these ZOMORPH capsules the best solution.

i foundboth the patches and tablets of morphine the most helpful of every thing that has been tried for me. but i had to come off both due to severe side effects. so i am back to full pain again! what a shock! i REALLY REALLY hope that they work for you! God bless!

Strong opioids aren't a recommended treatment for Fibro because they are unlikely to give good symptom control (partly because they do not address the central Fibro & partly because opioids are less effective in people with Fibro I because of fewer available opioid receptors) and strong opioids carry the risk of some serious side effects.

Some people with Fibro, mainly those with other conditions as well or whose Fibro is uncontrolled and poorly treated, do take strong opioids and benefit but it's unusual to get good symptom control.

I am on 52.5gm patches and my doctor wont give me a break through pain killer, because of my allergy to paracetamol I can't take this. Wondering whether to ask for higher patches or what. The pain maks me suicidal often and after getting rid of my "suicide" box after 12 years, last year I really don't want to be back in that position again. A suicide box is a box full of enough medication to kill your self without any chance of being brought back.

I took DF118's for 20 years and weaned myself off them over 4 years and now feel like a faulure again xxxx

Thanks sis xx

I used to have Fentanyl patches which helped with tarmadol for break they pain, when I could keep them on they were as effective as anything I had used but spent more time falling off due to my bodies inabity to regulate hot n cold properly. Eventually I am now on Morphone Sulphate Tablets 60mg every 12 hours with Oramorph for break thru pain which is definitely the best relief I have had besides when I used to have Lidnocaine infusions for a week at a time. Obviously everyone is different so talk to your dr & hopefully you will come up with the best option. I used to just accept what Dr's and other people told me but having suffered for 34 yrs with pain I know what works got me. Dr's try to get me just to have a standard dose in body all the time it's taken me z long time to get them to realise fibro isn't like that if you over do it or sometimes even if I don't being able to take Oramorph thru ought day if I need to really is the best method I have found .... So far

I hate meds and avoid them at all costs, the body can do so much by being positive x

I think this all depends on the severity of your pain.Have tried and failed over and over again to be positive. The only thing I am positive about is the hell I am going through. Tried till 4.p.m. yesterday to be positive but all went out the window when I could stand it no longer and succumbed to painkillers.I am not being funny but all I can say is you must have a very high pain tolerence or your pain is not as severe as some and therefore bearable.

Good on you if positivity works for you and the best of luck. Sorry, doesn't work for me.

avarose I am sorry that isn't very helpful, if I could afford to live abroad then I would!!!

Not had to go down that road yet manga but dread it when I do. Tramadol stopped working and morphine next step but found pregabalin have helped a little. Take tram during the day to try to get something done and pregabalin in evening cos it makes me like a zombie. Know this will stop working evntually again and I will be faced with the big decision.

So glad you got rid of your suicide box. I tried twice last year but didn't have enough meds. Now get them dished out a week at a time like a junkie.

Well done girl for telling it how it is and when somebody says something that's not helpful or appropriate - let them know which you did with respect. Your heading was about morphine, you don't need a lecture love Christine x

So glad someone else feels like a zombie on pregablin, I'm on 900mg of gabapentin 3 times a day along with my 90mg slow release morphine in the morning and again at night, diazepam, sevrdol for break through pain and my tablets come in a wee box delivered once a week too not because I was suicidal but because I could never remember if I had taken my meds or not. Gabapentin makes me like a zombie to the extent that I talk a load of rubbish, like having a great conversation on phone with friend and all of a sudden I burst in with 11 pound babies or watch the ducks they're crossing the road :), then I usually fall asleep on the phone, now if that happens people don't get too worried and rush over they simply hang up the phone and I call back when I'm sensible again. Anyone else suffer like this.

I do not live in Spain, just having a 2 week holiday. So sorry if I upset you,I know how bad the suffering can be,just thankful having a tolerable time at the moment, but then I am resting, getting loads of sleep, sunshine etc, and very little housework to do x
