Hi i was also wondering if anyone has used these which are supposed to help with FM sufferers pain management? I read about them on a health site for FM people.

I found supplements of these beneficial when my Fibro was bad.

Nutritional supplements work best when you really need them - ie. you have a deficiency - but you cannot test for magnesium deficiency with a simple blood test.

It's best with supplements to see how you go for a few months and then, unless you're certain they have helped, try stopping them for a while to see if they were doing anything.

Do be aware that different forms of magnesium are tolerated differently. If you get diarrhoea from them, they won't be helping, so try another form of magnesium. Magnesium malate (the usual source of Magnesium & Malic Acid in these supplements) is generally quite well tolerate though I believe.

Thank you Lindsey. will try the ones without diarrhoea side effects then lol, have enough probs with my ibs at the moment.

I am on the maximum dose of temgesic bupronorphine , and all it does is take the edge off. I am willing to try anything at the moment.

I've been using a liquid magnesuim supplement until recently, it does seem to have possibly helped with the overall aching. I've been making changes to my diet too, I should have diarrhoea like mad, by all accounts, but I lean more to constipation with my IBS and am now having relatively 'normal' movements.

Foods high in magnesium are ;

green leafy veg, soya beans, cashew and almond nuts,broccoli, wholegrains, wheatgerm,bananas and prunes.

Hope this is of some use.
