Sore Bumps On the Head

Hi - I don't know if anyone else has this. I've had it for years intermittently. Parts of my head will feel very tender to touch. Sometimes it goes into a headache and it feels like inflammation. This is when I take aspirin as I find it helps. x

Hi,l yes I have this regularly, feels like you have bumped your head, mine is at the sides on the back of my head. Does'nt seem to happen at the same time as my migraine's, but reading Lynn's post, I do have all those other symtoms when I get migraine aura, hadn't realised they were connected, so thanks Lynn. X

Could it be myofascial trigger points? These are rarely in isolation, so you may well have knots or hard areas on the muscles of your shoulders as well.

Myofascial trigger points can cause migraine and in my opinion are a hugely undiagnosed cause of chronic intractable migraine. They are the mechanism behind "tension headaches" also.

I get this too, i thought i was starting to grow horns lol, but yeah, they are sore to the touch and give bad headaches when touched. I was sent for CT scan and that came back normal. Im still at a loss as to what this is though.xx

Thanks for all your replies. My soreness doesn't necessarily coincide with my migraines but they can go into a headache or migraine. My sore bumps tend to be on the top of my head! x

I get tenderness and heat on the back of my head, also migratory to top of head or on the one side. I've also felt that my brain is inflamed and I get odd sensations within my head - thanks for bringing this up. It seems to radiate outwards towards my eyes.

Yes, I have felt that inflammation feeling to the brain and also things like walking seem strange and I feel dizzy.

Yes I get this as well, as a rule starts in my shoulders and neck

and goes into my head, but once in my head it is differient seems

to be sore patches to the touch also have sore places just above

my eyes mon my forehead

which appears to go into my eyes and then I get a head ache

its not like a migrain, had those before, when the pain goes then the

tiredness comes. dont know what it is but wish it would go away

Although I have notices that I get this when I get extremely tired

spell which goes with fibro.

Hi Vivien, yes that all sounds very familiar, soreness to the touch, and linked with fatigue. Mine often goes into a headache after the soreness but different from usual migraines as you say.

Be careful of using aspirin blood disorder and an only allowed to use paractamol. P
