This is quite common Ginge, we can be over-sensitive to touch, light, sound etc., and also tend to get more twinges and itches too. Our nerve endings can be quite heightened hence the strange feelings you are experiencing. I have these often, I am convinced there's something crawling around in my hair and I'm constantly scratching. Because Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome involve the central nervous system, we get all kinds of strange goings on in our nerves. We can get burning, tingling, numbness, pin pricks and itches. This category of sensation is called Paresthesia. Its nothing to worry about just very frustrating at times. If your itching etc is more than you can tolerate, see your GP as there are medications for this to ease the symptoms. If you suspect the itching is caused by something else, an allergic reaction maybe, please have a word with your GP to verify.
i get this quite often but as the years go by you sort of learn to block it... i have a new one now that crawls down my leg.. inside the leg from my hip to my foot now that one really drives me nuts !!
Another variation of the same symptom Sara, just in another part of your body. Very frustrating even if we do know what causes it. I get the leg crawlers too, I find putting weight on my legs either by standing up or walking around the house for a while tends to calm it down. Failing that I take 2 x 750mg Methocarbamol tablets when I really have had enough of it, that calms down the restlessness and "crawling" feeling within one hour.
I get this too... on the head all the time.. other parts of my body off and on. It's a sensation that can freak me out sometimes, thinking there is something crawling on me.
And.. when that happens.. the shock.. it also makes the anxiety worse.. arghh.. never ends.
i get this too. a creeping sensation over my complete scalp. i also get it on my thighs. i also get bout of feeling itchy all over xx we are spartans truly
wow, do you know what? I never even thought to question mine! haha. Now after reading this, I realise that I have the exact same thing lol. This group is just so wonderful and I'm realising more about my illness everyday. Thanks again. Glad that I'm not on my own, xxxx
I thought my hair was going to fall out, ive had that sensation on the back of my head for a few weeks now, im scratching all the time but only on the back, and no i dont have nits lol.xxx
yes had it for years , did not relize what it was untill being diagnoied with fibro, it is creepy , but i think its friends from above, the little angels
I noticed this sensation some two years ago and so I commenced physical exercises thinking that coud reduce it but all to no avail. I imagine its normal and so I don't bother myself anymore. They will all vanish when they are tired. The experience are around my two legs and my head.
Yes this happens to me but in the same place. Weird!!!
Thank u . I thought I was strange. It drives me nuts.
Hi everyone. I've just been told by my GP that I probably have Fibromyalgia. I already suffer with Osteoarthritis and thought it was just getting worse. Been googling the symptoms of something crawling on my head and legs and it brought me here. I have so many new pains that sometimes I think I've got something much more sinister. Also got a lot of Tinnitus in the last few months. I really thought I was a hypochondriac cos I was always complaining about another new pain somewhere, I cried when she told me cos it was an explanation of why I was suffering so much. I have a phobia of going to GP so I think that I have had this illness for a couple of years, only went to Dr with something else and told her about the slightest touch on my arms is so painful that she did the test on tender points. Feeling very depressed at the moment too.
I also feel that sensation on top of my head with is itchy too
I have this too but mostly on my legs. X
Hi ginge, I also get this too, very weird feeling 🙆🏼♀️
