Painful Feet

does anyone else have really painful feet, you feel they should be really swollen as that is what it feels like. A horrible burning sensation when you put them to the ground. Even sitting down with your feet up they hurt like hell.

Am I alone with this pain?

Hi Lucyw - you are definitely not alone - I too have burning feet most of the time. In bed it feels worse and I sometimes just don't know what to do with myself. I use a bean cushion under my ankles so that they don't touch anything when I'm resting - but it is soooooo uncomfortable - so you have my empathy *{}*

I didn't know that was fibromyalgia, i wondered if it was just me because i'm overweight I thought that was the reason my feet burn and sting.

Yes, my feet hurt a lot of the time. They don't get the burning sensation that you are talking about but I get a cramp like feeling across the top of my toe joints and my heels ache almost throbbing with pain.

I may give the steroid injection a look though. I use my foot spa with warm water and a few drops of lavender. It helps, but doesn't take the pain away completely.

Take care everyone xxxx

No, you are sadly not alone! I suffer from burning/swollen feet and hands. When I was about 15 a remember going to my doctor telling him the pain in my feet gets so bad it looks and feels like its dislocating! He just laughed at me and told me I was just growing up. These pains never went away :( now we know why!

My feet are constantly 'on fire', nothing helps at all. I have to use a mobility scooter as I can't walk far, but no-one (apart from fellow sufferers) understands how it's too painful even to put my feet up on a footrest! I am normally a fairly strong person but the pain is so unbearable, I want to scream & cry,but what's the point? We're stuck with this!!! Thankfully I'm on the waiting list for the pain clinic maybe they will come up with something!

Hi cobweb can you plz let me know how you get on I been told I have to live with the pain just more bloody pills I could easy take them all some days can't walk around a super market now ten mins on them and I scream with them

Hello Cobweb, I have problems with my feet, they are constantly "on fire". My feet have grown slightly bigger too as they won't fit into shoes I used to wear. When my feet are really bad I put them in my foot spa. They aren't too expensive and the bubbley warm water is so soothing, you can set the temperature for your own comfort and there are even massaging foot spas around now.

Also I've bought a memory pillow (the same as you would sleep on) and I put both my feet on this and it takes the pressure off of them as your feet sink into the pillow which is so comfortable.

I also have resigned myself to the fact that I have to pay more for my shoes and not have so many of them. Now I have about three pairs of comfort shoes with shock absorbing heels, they look nice too and are fashionable. They are made by Caprice and Tamaris. :)
