Hello everyone,
well i can not believe the conversation i have just had with Guys Hospital Rheumatology fibro clinic. i had been signed off by rheumotologist and referred back to GP re fibromyalgia. i know Prof Davis and Guys intention were to create a clinic of excellence on fibromyalgia. well, i have just been told when i recieve my appointment next week, it will include an appointment with rhuematology, physio and neurologist!!!
this is definately a step in the right direction.
as some of you might remember i was very happy last week as i was sent to Barts hospital neuorology in relation to my headaches. they have agreed to conduct tests re mri of blood flow in brain and a cognatiive test to start with.
i was very happy with consulation to be having tests on blood flow as i am concerned with severity of headaches, blood pressure and possible stroke.
also i think the cognitive test (100 questions) may be helpful to us re ESA, DLA and appeals. arrangement have been made and i am awaiting letter for the london hospital whitechapel. i promise to keep you all up to date on this.
however expecting my guys appointment was purely for professor davis rheumologist only. i know guys hospital intentions was to create a centre of excellence and it now appears they have. i know the firbo groups work closely with prof davis so i would like to say well done to fibro action etc too.
so my advice, anyone signed off back to gp and worried about symptoms, should ask their gp for referral to guys hospital fibromyalgia clinic, through the click and book methods.
NB my GP had trouble locating guys dedicated fibro clinic on line, however found it under (gp form states) rhuematology sports, guys site-rheumatology - guys & st thomas - RJI Guys Hospital. so it might be worth telling your gp this info too.
good luck everyone
