keep getting a sharp pain in my middle finger comes and goes does this come with fibro

I get it, and have to get my hubby to squeeze my finger, its so painful, mine lasted a few weeks

I get it in my thumb and index finger, GP said it was carpel tunnel xx

Yes Carpal Tunnel is one of the avenues of Fibro, does your finger change colour or is it just the pain?

Hi cheryle,

It sounds like it could be carpol tunnel syndrome. I have it in both of my hands. If you go to your GP and tell them where the pain is, they can ask you a few questions and if they think it is Carpol, then can then refer you for more testing. Carpol tunnel can be treated by cutting the tendons in your arms / wrists to relieve the pain etc. I have it affecting both hands, my right side middle finger then ring to litlle finger all have pins / needles and I also get a deadness feeling in the hand. I don't know what else you can get for your hands other than painkillers and oh yes a splint from yr local pharmacy. I got mine from my local pharmacy - although they weren't cheap (£20 each splint). But I'm on crutches and the pain from my hands each day on top of everything else got tooooo much. I have had the electrode test (they test for reaction to electrodes passing though your nerves in each hand and am now waiting to see a consultant in trauma to see what's next. I would definetely go and see yr GP and mention all the issues to the GP and see what they say - best wishes and good luck

I get this also in both hands/and fingers,wrists are also weak with Osteo/or is it Fibro effects,I don't know,I'm just getting fed up with lots of different things going on in my body.

I have been given wrist splints for free from my doctor.

Doctor has never sent me for tests for Carpol ,although I have had Trigger Thumbs,was going to have op to put that right,but did loads of exercise with thumbs myself to combat the problem,now my thumbs stay straight.,although painful still.

My hands are quite painful though,with Osteo in fingers,fingers are going crooked,and nails curling over.

Fibro is horrid,one never knows how one is going to feel at any given time.

But we all plod on,and hope tomorrow brings us a little relief.

It could be carpel tunnel as just been told I have it. It started in just one finger. But I would get it checked out by doc. Good luck let us know how you get on x
