Botox for bladder problems
They use it to reduce sweating in the face, feet and arm pits as well, also for painful feet. I have seen it on tv for bladders to relax them from been overactive, it only lasts a certain period, I haven't had it my self so sorry I cant help on that but it is a common treatment for lots of things, however if your sensitive to any medication see if they do tests for allergic reaction or sensitives.
Best of luck

Hi BlueBunny, there is no way they can tell in advance if you will have any reaction to it apparently. They say about 30% of people who have the treatment get fluid retention and if that happens then you have to be prepared to self catheterise which is a bit scary. Have to way up the pros and cons of that though over the symptoms that I currently have that are not under control with the medication. I have tried a few different tablets to no effect. Thanks for your response though. xx
Best of luck whatever you decide, it would be good if you get a responce from someone who's had the procedure.

Thank you. I dont know how widespread the treatment is available so may not get any response. Hope you are keeping well, love Angela xx
Hi, my mum has had botox for an over sensitive bladder and she says it has changed her life, no more tena lady pads and worrying she wont make it to the loo etc, she is really happy with the result.
She says she would recommend it to anyone, and she had no problems at all

Hi Amanda, thanks so much for your reply, thats very encouraging to hear. What is concerning me is that they say 30% of people who have the botox have urine retention and if that happens you will need to catheterise and I dont know how I feel about that. I have agreed to look into the catheterisation before I agree to the botox just in case so I guess I will do that before making up my mind. I don't know anyone else who has had this so it was really great to hear your Mum has had such good results. Take care, Love Angela xx
Hi Ang, I work in a urology unit where one of our consultants specialises in Botox for the bladder, on the whole these injections work, and yes can change peoples lives. The injections last a different length of time in each person same as medications,a case of you pays your money, you takes you chances.
Self catheterising is not as bad as you may think, it's discrete so no-one else need know you have a problem.
Both are very simple procedures and painless, it's worth exploring both in more detail.
