Hello, i am hopeing someone here can help me, or answer the question if they suffer the same thing. I constantly need to go to the toilet, I always have the urge to go, but when i get there, i have to force the urine out. Its hard to explain really, th urge is like having a full bladder and you would hink that i would be nearly wetting myself, as if i have held it to long, but cant pass water straight away, i have to strain to go, it doesnt hurt, theres no stinging, colour is normal, but i can be sat on the loo for what seems like ages befor i wee. I hope im making sense...lol, Just wondered if anyone else has or had this problem!!! I go very frequently, feels like i have a full bladder every 30-40 minutes, even through the nite, just dont understand what is wrong, i drink plenty of water, not alot of tea or coffee, as i suffer with alot of nausea, so any ideas would be gratefully received...........Blessings Willow

Thanks for posting this Willow, I'm exactlly the same although I just put it down 2 getting older (I'm 45). Thought this was problem all women suffered later in life. I just get settled 2 watch something on tv and next thing I'm running (well going as fast as can on crutches r walking stick...lol) 2 toilet, all can say is thank goodness 4 pause button on sky tv. I live with hubby and son and reckon I go at least half dozen times 2 one time they go. I 2 have that feeling of full blader constantly but when get 2 toilet I can't go. Another thing I suffer is when I do go sometimes when I'm finished I realise my bowels have moved without me even realising. On couple occassions my bowels have moved and I only realise when I go 2 bathroom. Thankfully it has only happened on 2 occassions and both times I've been at home. It does make me nervous bout going out anywhere, not that I'm up 2 going out 2 often.

Sorry its bit of sensitive subject but if no1 says it we will all just b in ingnorance and embarrassment of the subject.

Hope every1s as well as they can be despite this wretched illness xx

I have suffered with this for years. It was put down to a prolapse of the womb which had pulled the bladder out of position. A ring pessary was inserted to hold the womb back and it helped the prob, so it was decided that I have a hystorectomy and bladder repair. This stopped the prob for about 3yrs but it came back. I have had 4 surgeries they call urethra dialation. The last one showed abnormal cells on the bladdder wall (nothing nasty). I have yet another app. on Monday at hosp, so no doubt I will be heading for surgery again. Because my bladder doesnt empty I have frequent bouts of cyctitis. I personally think my bladder has "tipped" again. But I am not an expert. It may be worth asking your G.P. for refferal to Urology dept. Please excuse spelling.

Ive been assessed by a continance clinic and its been a great help I have an irritable bladder and IBS, I get urge incontinence , were I cant hold it in, I get a constant need to go to the loo it could be every few mins, there no infection at all, it might be as well for you to get a referal

Hi willowmuse, very brave of you to post this, but at least on here sensitive questions can be asked as some of us have similar problems. Get the ball rolling by getting checked out by your doc might be a good idea. see what they say and go from there. i had problems and it was pelvic floor muscles, lots of muscle exercises and things did improve..i just thought it was being an "older" lady. something no one wants to talk about till one person does..then ahhhhh, i recognise those symptoms.

Good luck Jan H xx

I was put onto Detrusitol to help with an 'over active' bladder, (good to know one part of me is active I guess!), after I got caught short one night out with my kids and ended up having to squat behind a car in the street! I'm 50 and have never been so distressed!

I drink plenty of water and herb teas, my pelvic floor is good and I don't smoke, drink booze much, and have always been active, (walking the dog and cycling with the kids, not going to gym or running marathons)!

I came off it a bit later because I found that whilst I still had the bursting bladder feeling, I just couldn't pee!

I would rather have both the feeling AND the abilty! I will have to go back to see the doc though, I must be loosing much needed minerals and vitamins at least.

I think I'll take the advice offered here and ask to be referred to the clinic, sounds like that's the best bet.

I hope you find an answer soon, it's no fun living around loo routes.

thers alot that can be done, I had both urge and stress incontinance, and ive lost count the times ive wet myself,Im waiting for my gp to phone today with advise on my new meds Im hoping theyll help

Thankyou all for the various answers and advice, I'm 40 nananna, just turned and thought it was just one of those things that happened, i do suffer with the incontinence bit now and again, but i will speak with my consultant when I go back as he seems the best bet, my gp well whet ever i say to hr she puts down to fibro and ups my dosage!!!! I am currently under Dr Patel at the Nuneaton George Eliot and I have heard good things about him. Nanaanna and shortnsweet, no need to thank me for asking the question, if you cant ask about sensitive material, then we wont get anywhere and this illness can bring embarressing things that we have to talk about really. Blessings to You All xxxx

hi willow,

i have had many problems with bladder infections that were terribly painful. and got worse as the days went by. then i had to finally get some cipro to clear it and always kept it in the fridge. because as it came on, it was a weekend, to late at night. i still have bladder infections, gut a different strain, and that came from wiping both the back and the front. now i have been very care flu to wipe the front by it self and the back by itself. so no more bladder infections. the last strain that i had was non-painful. but recently, i go to bed, and wake up finding myself very wet. i had no sensation of needing to go. i just did. even though i slept on a pad and a towel. which kept my bed dry. . then my doctor gave me a prescription for myrbertric. [spelling} ? it was over three hundred bucks for a 3 month supply. plus he wanted me to use the patches. also astronomical in price. and it worked like a charm. didn't get the patches. so i decided to get the overnight pads. a whole lot cheaper. and it works very well. at least i can sleep in a dry bed. sorry this is so wordy, but i wanted you to get the full story.

thanks for taking the time to read all this. love, judam
