or does anyone know any doctors who has it

I bet not or at least they dont say

I think you are lucky to have some one who knows

what it is like, my doctor is very nice but just gets

our the BNF and says right what medication would

you like to try now.

Hi Lexie, I am not a doctor but a retired pharmacist with long standing fibro - made me retire earlier than I might have done. I have met doctors who don't think there is any such thing as fibro.

Also I may not have periods but I am being currently investigated for prostrate problems including cancer and been impotent for some years. Researching this on line There is a slim chance the prostrate problem may be caused by the amitriptyline that I take, a high dose as recommended by the consultant at a pain clinic.

In spite of this serious reply I understand that a lot of men wouldn't cope with periods, period pains and childbirth.

sorry if i upset you . I didnt mean to..i was teasing ...hope you can forgive me ?

I do know the importance of getting heard and understood by people you trust like doctors and pharmacists and the lack of understanding by many in the health care profecion a friend of mine in health caree said Oh my aunt has that its an excuse for her lazy ways she does nothing all day ... dispite the fact i was working in uni and a single mum at the time ( married now) with 4 boys.

Thanks Lexie, you didn't upset me. I have walked out from consulting rooms of doctors that say there is no such thing as fibromyalgia- all they wanted to do was give me antidepressants which is stupid when a look at my notes would show I have been taking amitriptyline for years.
