How come some Doctors can have the right to not agree with the illness fibromyalgia. Is it because they themsdelves have not studied the illness - which each one gets the information on. Or because its just their own bloody mindedness

hiya circuitrunner,i have had exactly the same problem as you with my GP,and eventually got another doctor in the practise to refer me to a pain clinic, and got a diagnosis from them.
if you are having real problems with your GP, look up your local PALS in the phone directory,i found them an amazing help with getting my GP to understand that fibro is an actual illness
Thanks Christine for your advice I live in UK - I have seen specialists had so many different meds over the years nothing touches it. Also I must say the spinal degeneration does not help. I was in my early 40's when diagnosed now past my sell buy date 70 in June lol. It is at the point now I have turned to being seen privately not on the NHS here. As I feel sure this problem will be taken on a different light. Believe me in my mind I do not feel my age and know there is something out their that they will be able to do to supress the Chronic Pain. So fingers crossed - having MRI on total spine Friday hopefully from this it will be realised that with the spine and fibro meds are not taking the chronic pain on board. If I casn get relief from spine that would be a help in itself. Will do a follow up as soon as a conclusion has been given as to what or if anything can help
what are local PALS, I live in Scotland
thanks will try this and let you know if I am sucessful
