Human Weather Vanes?

Hello, again! How many of us can predict the change in weather without the assistance or necessary information from a meteorologist? I can tell there will be a change in the weather about a week before it changes.

Thank you Chris! It would be nice not to be such a "natural" weather predictor. I think one of the most stressful times for me as a Fibro sufferer is when the weather changes, those are the times that my complete anatomy is affected in a most harsh way. I deal with gastritis, the Raynaud's gets worse and on top of that every symptom of Fibro is immensely intensified along with the inability to comb or brush my hair because my head is sore. I have to admit that I LOATHE these ailments but once again it's nice to know that I'm not alone on this painfully lonesome journey.

I too suffer with a very sensitive head and because my arms hurt constantly, I try to keep my hair short so that I don't have to brush it! I'm also a human weather vane, I need to be kept at a constant temperature (usually above everyone else's comfort zone) and I have repeated gastritis. I'm glad I found this site after 12 years since my diagnosis.

I can tell if it's going to rain as I start to get aches in my legs which spreads to my feet! I am more reliable than the weather forecast lol! I have some thermal thin leggings which I wear which really help when it's cold, they're thin like tights but make all the difference to that horrible cold achy feeling we get in our legs. I also get more headaches when it's colder and damp.

Had to laugh at this one painB,bet you wont believe that I can smell snow.

It`s a metalic smell that only I seem to understand,but I`m never wrong.

Also when the winds are going to be dangrously high I get palpitations and also headaches when it`s thunderstorms.

The rest of the time I just pray for heat as I think we all do.

Hi butterfly I'm new to this site .up to now have just read postings. Getting so much help even though i'v had fibro for 15 yrs. Just had to say I smell snow. My husband just said " now u have met someone as loopy as you lol ..... Nando xxxxx

Yes indeed, I move like a very old lady when it's damp and cold! Roll on summer and feeling that wonderful warm glow of the sun on our aching bodies!

Hi PainB, yes the weather doe's have an influence on our conditions. I went to Cyprus for my sons wedding 4 years ago & I forgot to pack my Gabapentin, after the panic I thought I can't do anything about it so just get on with it!! I was great for the 2 weeks....didn't need to sleep as much (or try to stay asleep I should say) my back was great with just my pain patches I felt really quite good for the first time in a long time....went back home & though I don't need the gabapentin any more so I'm not taking it!!.....3 days I lasted & I can only put it down to the weather! In Cyprus it's a dry heat but in uk it is different. I think we all need a prescription to go to a hot country for the winter don't you?? Hahaha!
