Flare up caused by change in weather

I'm having a horrible flare up and I think it's due to the change in temperature recently. Pain and stiffness is horrendous and fibro fog means I'm like a zombie. I haven't been able to cook, go out, etc for about a week. Does anyone else feel the weather has affected them too?

Hi Flopsy....Oh yes and I think you will find most Fibro peeps have that reaction to the weather. Personally I like Autumn time perfect weather for me...not too hot and not too cold either. You are not alone....xx

I like Autum like Trikki

I like autumn, like Trikki it's not to hot nor cold but when the winter takes over the pain ramps up a bit and I feel a lot worse than I had been. Winter and Summer are the hardest for me :)

We can commiserate I know what the weather will be like before opening my blinds and thick curtains as I can feel how my body reacts especially now to the damp. I used to love Winter but now dread it. Love the Autumn colours though. Hope your flare soon comes down some notches. Just go with the flow and don't try to push it.x

Sorry to hear your feeling so bad but weather does affect me as well. Summer and hot weather (US) is horrible on FM and any other forms of chronic pain.I hope you feel better soon.Take care. Peck.🐤

Yes FlopsyCleopatra definitely, I've just had an horrendous weekend & today. I could hardly walk yesterday with pain. I've just made gp appointment today because I've been so bad & i really don't like going doctors but I've got to do something. I also suffer with arthritis though & it just sets the Fibro off & worse pain. So yes my friend I'm feeling your pain.

Oh for a few weeks in the sun ☺

Luv Jan x

Hi FlopsyCleopatra

I am so genuinely sorry to read this and I have to admit that in winter my arthritis is awful. I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Thanks for your replies, when I'm having a tough time It helps to get support from people who understand. I had been having less pain until recently, I hate the flare ups although I know to accept them now and just try to relax and rest but it feels like I've been beaten up, every movement is painful and nausea is really bad. Hopefully I will adjust to the weather changes and be able to do things again soon. I think one of the hardest things with fibro is not knowing how long a flare will last. So far it's been over a week, I'm hoping it doesn't turn into a month or more. Take care everyone xx

Keep yourself warm, get one of those heated shawls everyone is talking about. Eat some chicken soup for your soul 🍲 Your are stuck how you are at the moment, so try not to stress to much, you just have to be kind to yourself and wait it out. Hope you find peace soon 🙂

Oh chicken soup sounds delicious I will have to ask someone to get me some. I've been using heat pads but a heat shawl does sound amazing. Thanks x
