Good day new-day-tommrow I believe the weather affects all of us really, the good old british weather can change in an instant, we are never ready! I think damp affect arthritis and some people have arthritis in their muscles as well as bones. I nowadays check the local weather on my posh I-phone (hand me down no idea how to use most of it) and try to dress appropriately! My TENS machine has become part of getting dressed these days-I couldnt sit at the pc this long without it , although it does make me jump sometimes and spell a lot of words wrong!!

Thankyou for your reply I do suffer with arthritis in the spine as well but wondered if people with fibro suffer more in damp weather

The weather affects me. Air quality was very poor here yesterday so had to rest a lot. Felt better in evening though, after weather has cleared a bit.

Although I was told by a Rheumatologist in 2010 that I have Fibromyalgia, I don't know for sure if I do, though. He thought he'd eliminated Hypothyroidism by doing repeat Thyroid function blood tests (TSH & T4) because he'd come across some 18 month old Hypothyroid Blood results.

When his tests came back within "normal range" he said - Thyroid's OK you've got Fibromyalgia!

I actually have :

Hashimoto's Autoimmune Thyroiditis and Hypothyroidism - but wasn't diagnosed until late 2011. I asked GP for an Ultrasound scan of my Thyroid after which he made an urgent referal to the Endocrinologist . He did full Thyroid blood tests including Antibodies and Ft3. He also arranged an urgent Short Synacthen Test to check my adrenals first. Then phoned to say my adrenals are ok so I could now start my Levothyroxine.

Thankyou for your post I know it sounds silly but it makes me feel not so alone

No, it doesn't sound silly at all.

I used to get really angry that the weather should dictate my life, but now I just get on with it and give in and rest if I need to.

Hello new day tomorrow, OH YEH BABY !! The weather is definitely a problem with the fibro and arthritis. We have recently been lucky enough to have a warm holiday , and I absolutely felt like a new woman ! Really , really didn't want to come home to being in pain and discomfort. Tried to persuade the family to move to Fuerteventura , but to no avail, they said it would be too hot for them. Looks like I'ii just have to wait until we can go to somewhere warm again , it's taken 7 years to get this holiday, so I'd better keep the woolly jumpers and socks handy. I too have arthritis all over the place, so I feel your pain.
