Today, the CAB gave me the Birmingham address of the Disability Resource Centre as the people to help with completing DLA forms. There may be one in your area or ask CAB if they know who can help you.

There was omeone on here the otherday offering advice to someone, as they know what they are talking about, i am sorry i cant remeber their name.

Also the work and benefits are supposed to be excellent, its on line and you pay £20 for it.

If you look on the DLA website it lists a number that you can call for someone to fill the forms out for you over the phone. I completed my forms on-line, but it took me 4 days to do it as the computer kept freezing and throwing me out, so it was incredibily frustrating, before I actually managed to complete it, I phoned the number and was told that someone would phone me back to complete it over the phone - but that it would be between 3 and 5 weeks. The nice lady actually phoned yesterday and was amazed when I told her that I'd managed to do it on-line (apparently I'm the first person she had heard of that had managed to do it!!) i've probably not completed it properly, but as I am already awaiting a tribunal date for the DLA and this was a new claim because of new ailments, I'm not expecting much.

Good luck with it, hope my info helps. gentle hugs xx

Hi, I Live in Lincoln and the CAB benefits advisor has been great, he came to my home to fill out the forms, explaining everything clearly. He sent me a photo copy of the completed forms and I'm now waiting to hear. I couldn't have done it without their help it's hard enough to remember what I'm doing my brain is permanently in a fog. He also sorted out my ESA as I had been moved to that from income support and put on the base rate of £67.50, this you are only supposed to be on for a max of 13 weeks while you are waiting for your medical. Having already been through a medical for Income support I really didn't want to have to go through this again. I was put on this in June last year and was still only getting £67.50 until last week. I would say CAB are a good choice.

Good Luck!
