Is anyone on Diphenhydramine for sleep?

Hi,

My Gp has put me on diphenhydramine so i can sleep. However, when i do take this med all i want to do the next day is sleep???

Is anyone else going through this?

hi, i am not sure about this drug, its called Nytol ,Sleep aid ,Benadryn and has other brand names.

i used to take it but was becoming dependant on it, You are right in as much as it can make you sleepy and feeling heavy the next day. hugs, Sue, xx

Hi Kerry, the best person to ask about the meds is your pharmacist. I used to work in a pharmacy and a lot of people used to buy this often, and would take it at different times, depending on their circumstances.

Like Susie said, it can make you feel a little sleepy the day after, but if your sleep is really bad before taking this, its a small price for getting a better night!
