Hi, sorry to hear that you have been hit by a virus, typical!! Hope you get well soon.

I know how you must feel about going back to work....if someone sent me back to work I think I would have a meltdown!!

I have managed to get off meds once, that was having a summer off, I was a total recluse. I lived by the beach so everyday I sat on the beach and chilled. I didn't answer my phone, didn't read magazines, just chilled...I also got the best tan ever!! I felt like I let my body recover fully after I stopped working.

I have to say that I stayed off for a little while, however I got sent back to work and within weeks I wasback on them as I wasn't able to pace.

I think if you can pace properly and lead your life how YOU want and not have to do things, such as go to work, race around to get the shopping etc done, housework etc etc then you may be able to become med free.

I wish you lots of luck, however maybe is not the right time to try as it sounds like you need to pills.

My aim in life is to get off the meds and lead a more holistic life and practise lots of yoga.!!!

I really hope you feel better soon and can have a chilled weekend xxx Hugs xx

Hi Mandy, i do feel for you, having work as well as this horrible Fibro, i can go bits here and there without pain meds but would only be if not doing anything at all. i need them to go out and walk or to hoover etc, i would be taking them all the time if working, in fact i did, sending soft hugs and love.Sue. xx

thae up work. nk you sue. its so good to talk to others about fibro. would like to give up work. i dont think i would get any benifits

I tried to stay at work as long as possible, reducing the hours to take away the stress and let me sleep when needed but in the end as most say you need the pills to cope with the pain, but these made me even more tired and stressed. I now have given up, its taking me a long time to learn to pace myself and not feel guilty if the house hasnt been cleaned etc. If i have to go shops or have appts, i know i cant do anything else. Its meds then sleep or rest. If i have the energy i overdo things cos i want to get as much done as possible bt then i am laid up for a few days. At the moment i hardly take any meds as I do one or two small jobs a day and rest when i feel tired. The warm weather helps as it was only 2 weeks ago i became so much of a recluse i wouldnt even get out of bed except for the bathroom visits. But now i can manage to sit in the garden for a hour or so. But some days like others i need to take all of them jst to get through the day.
