Severe pain in the head?
i get terrible headaches my dr has given me imigran as he says they r migrains they r the only thing that takes the pain away but they take a while to cick in sometimes 2hrs.
What kind of pain is it? Where in your head is it located?
There are some neuropathic pain conditions that cause severe facial pain. TMJ is also quite common amongst people with Fibro and this causes jaw pain and pain radiating from the jaw. TMJ is often linked to myofascial trigger points. Myofascial trigger points in the head, neck, shoulders and back can also cause pain themselves and also cause generalised headaches or migraine.
Anyone with recurrent migraine should try and get checked out for myofascial issues.
Thank you for your replies The pain does stem from the neck shoulders it is at the back of the head and radiates upwards to the top .I have pins and needles and itching in the head also. Have been to the doctor on many occasions he gave me Tramadol which made my head even worse made me feel sick and giddy I could not take them nor codeine. The doctor always say when you get a headache but I have the pain all of the time it never relents.is this unusual .The rest of my fibro neck shoulders and back I also have every minute of the day and night also.Have had fibromylagia eighteen years starting with a rogue glandular feaver bug. I had much lesser symptoms then .They have increased now especially over the last four to five years to a level that is hard to cope with and I am always looking and hoping that there will be something or somebody that will be able to decrease these symptoms be it only by ten per cent.
I am not a moaner I try very hard to make myself interested in various things to focus my mind but that is getting more difficult.
I am very pleased to have joined this group there will be many things to share and try Thank you again X
Thank you Jules I have never heard of maxalt melts I think I should go back once again to my doctor and ask him if I could try this drug .If he just shrugs his shoulders and say take paracetamol I think it's time for a change of GP

i find an Indian head and should massage helps me get some relief and i use masses of tiger balm. i also go for an infared sauna which helps relieve the intensiveness for a short while.
however i resort to the pain killers too. then end up sleeping. i have bad migraine type headaches every day. however so times the type of head changes. like when i am suffering nightmares.
if only we could get a documentary done on our suffering. thats what i would like to happen xx
Thank you Happe for sharing with me your solution for easing the pain in the head. Yes a Indian head massage does improve the condition for a short time
I have never tried the IR sauna would not know where to go to have one of those.Tiger balm I could try on my neck and shoulders at the moment I use lots of Algesal a local analgesic cream which helps about ten per cent.
I actually find that stress makes my head even worse. On the brighter side I try and keep my mind active and try not to turn down to many invitatations. If I stay in because I hurt and extremely fatigued I find I get very depressed and my mind drifts to thoughts that are depressing.
If I find anything that helps the continuous pain in the head I will let you know I am always looking for an easement
Healing thoughts xx
