Hey Fibro ChumsMany many years ago Fibro started in my arms , legs feet and hands. This was for so many years, then it travelled to my Neck, Shoulders and head also for many years.
Then it seemed to be almost constant in my lower back only
Now it seems its on the move again to my arms, shoulders and head (which for me is the worse place to have Fibro)
Does anybody else have Fibro move solely to one area then change to another. I know we are all different but just wanted to see if anyone has it move the same as me ???
Many thanks F π€π

I did know that it did move but I guess what I didn't realise was that it could stay in an area for such a long time, then shift to elsewhere. I find this upper body pain ie neck, head etc is at it worse ...so I'm dreading this shift ..thanks for your reply ππ€F x
Yes, this is typical of fibromyalgia pain as a result of it being due to Central nervous system hypersensitivity and disordered pain processing. Simply - our brains send out pain signals when there is no cause.
Hi Frenchi88 yes I was have pains in my leg For a long time It was surrspected to be siaticor Then few years later PAD now am being told its fibromyalgia I call it the (shite)
My sister in law said will calm down as she has it I feel I have gotten worse not better not even leveled my thoughts are with you
Hey so sorry for sending a reply so late, been going trough it a bit lately. As I suspected its moving up to the neck and arms again after not having them there for so many many years.
I think your sister-in law means well but everyone is different so you can't tell when or where or if you will have a period of where it will calm.
I went to a consultant few years back and told me that I had PIRIFORMIS SYNDROME which is when muscle in the buttock spasms on the sciatic nerve which causes Sciatica . I was so pleased when he gave me this diagnosis as it made more sense for me than Sciatica ever did.
I always think once we know what we have we can learn to deal with it better and teach oursleves what we need to know.
I do hope your sister-in-law is right and you get a bit of relief soon and the same goes for her too. I'd take as having someone else who understands Fibro as a plus and them knowing what it's all about.
Yeah that sounds like mine as u say section by section. I think it just shocks me how long (for me at least) I have had it in one place for decades then for it to move. I do apologise for the long wait for a reply , have been suffering with the moving of the pain and adjusting myself again.
All I know for me personally that certain area s seem too be more painful alway lower back , shoulder blades, neck and head, ,glad too see you have had some helpful replies, take care x
Hey thanks so much for your reply and sorry this reply has been a while coming.Wow when I have it in my neck and head it's the worse pain I've ever had. Its literally unbearable. I think for me , when it's in the lower body its a bit easier to get on with...BUT THE HEAD AND NECK !!!! there's just no getting away with knowing it's there and it's excruciating. I can handle when it's lower (except for my back) down but it's scaring me somewhat now as I know what's coming again π
Yeah I never fail to get replies with, if not advice just kind words which is just as welcome.
Hi Frenchie88. Yep me too. I started with what they thought was a frozen shoulder. This pain then went across my clavicle to my other shoulder, then down my arms. After months and months of not being to fully dress myself, wash myself etc, i eventually had acupuncture and it cured my upper body pain. Now i have terrible pains in my right knee and leg muscles, and my hips. And this damp weather doesnt help either, my elbows are killing me! This horrid conditon takes no prisoners and you never know where its going to strike next. Take care x
Hey thanks so much for your reply and my apologies for a long time for this one to be sent.At the moment my arms won't let me reach up and put my clothes on or pull anything up which is obviously a problem π€ππ
So glad that the acupuncture worked for you that's great news to have something work like that.
I keep getting pain in my elbows now and again and they hurt to bend so I feel for you. As you say it takes no prisoners and we are at its mercy aren't we.
I do hope you get some time pain free as we all crave that don't we.
Again sorry for late reply been going through it a bit lately.
Yes. My worst area is shoulders, down arms, ribs, between shoulder blades. For a long time I did not have lower body pain too much. Now sides of legs, knees and feet hurt sometimes lower back.
I find that sometimes when the upper back areas hurt, the lower body is better, but sometimes its all over.
It can change from day to day or even hour to hour.
Hey thanks for your reply and sorry for the long awaited message from me.Well I'm getting the pain back up in my neck and shoulders and it's the worse pain for me , aswell as the headaches, so I really feel for you as I know the pain is terrible.
For me its as you say its either the upper or lower body but occasional both just to keep us on our toes.
It's also the same for me changing from day to day or by the hour. I gey bad back pain but as I have Osteo too I'm not sure which is which.
Yes, many years back mine started in my knees and hips and then shoulders. I think from pushing a trolley around the supermarket and dog agility practice. Then it seemed to spread from there. For me itβs the head and back pain that are the worst. Sometimes I just want to rip out my spine. If that would cure it I would. Now it seems to wander aimlessly around my body. Sometimes worse in my neck or legs, my feet or arms or hands, but always my head and very often my back. You just donβt know what delight youβre going to wake up too. ππ€£π€·ββοΈ
Oh my goodness doesn't it get ya wherever it wants to.I listen or read about people's coping with Fibro and when it sinks in I think how on earth do we cope, get up everyday (or not) and keep going , but we do. We may have fights to do things, things that have to wait for when we can do them or things that we know we won't be able to do and/or things that we've done but suffer extremely afterwards.
WOW the mental/psychological effects are just as bad as the pain itself for me.
It's a challenging life for anyone, but for Fibro (and anyone else with whatever they struggle with) to get up everyday and think where's the pain going to be today and how am I gonna be feeling today and coping today with all that I have to do today. Its enough to make ya run for the hills.
I do hope things look up for you to give you some relief from it all.
I appreciate your reply and my apologies for the late reply back to you.
Yes my pain travels and might stay in a new area for days or sometimes for months. Pain in feet, ankles, knees, hips, ribs, elbows and shoulders gives new challenges. Fortunately my new doctor doesn't fob off new pains as fibro but investigates further. My lower back pain turned out to be osteoarthritis and curved spine but tests on headpain are all negative so looks like it's fibro. I didn't know it can cause such debilitating headaches.
Hi there Ye I'm nearly 68 and have the same only I don't have it in the feet, but every where else it's horrendous , I've been following the pain abit on you tube who explain everything and how to lessen and cure the psin.
It's not an overnight fix. But the pain in the head has gone. I just have to work on all the other sensations. It's worth a try what have you got to lose, it's easy but also hard and you will have set backs like myself, but I'm not giving up, I cannot take this condition to the grave with me. I love life but it's ruining it for me.
Hope this helps please let me know how you get on. These people are specialists and have cured themselves and want yo help everyone for free no hidden charges
Hi Yes, my fibro started many, many years ago in my pelvis. 10 years later it moved to my feet. Then back up to my ribs. To my shoulders, and they're back down to my knees. Of late, I have been in a lot of pain in my shoulders, not so bad in my pelvis. But my feet are playing up in the last few days, It seem to move around π
