I was referred to the pain management team a few months back for first time have had Fibromyalgia since 2003 or that was when I was told.
Anyway went along had some movement tests questions ext and he said you do very well on your own controlling your pain and push yourself to work.
I will give you a stronger pain killer and send you to see anouther pain team fir alternative pain management if you would like to.
So I said yes got appt went along and they asked same things and said can't do anything for you at this time you cope to well what! Cos I have to my husband works long hours to pay bills as I can only manage 25 hrs.
So if you look as if your managing you don't get help I don't manage all the time! .
Meant to have appt to go back to pain management one appt has been cancelled not had anouther yet.
Why if you seem to be coping to they think you are I'm not ! Sorry am angry with them and myself for looking normal what is normal anyhow.

I don't blame you for feeling angry and abandoned. We all do our best to cope because we have no choice. It isn't fair that you should be denied help because you try so hard to keep going.
Just had a thought. Have you been seen by the clinical psychologist attached to the pain management clinic? You might find that route more helpful. That was how `i got my help.
hi,yes we cope cos we have to,i didn't know there was any other help available, when i was diagnosed with fibro in april this year by pain management i was told that apart from medication & learning how to live with the pain there was nothing else he could do for me so he wouldn't need to see me again unless my gp thought he should do.x
