I haven't had any issues really. It's just all the nightmares you hear about on here how they have been with people.
Ive had pip for 12 years it's just when a review comes up and nothings changed you don't have any new , results , paperwork... appointment especially when the medical professionals just say accept it and get on with it .....
Not saying the number is good or bad but I did a search and could not see it on any of the usual reporting sites for scams. I did see a telecoms site showing numbers from the Tokyo region which match the pattern but it would not be a uk number if it was one of them. It would likely come through as +81 330 428671.
Many thanks. I looked googled it too . 0330 is generally classed as a "local" number cheap rate they replace many 0800 numbers .
It just stresses me out as I never get calls on my landline. I have PTSD and it really triggers me. I don't give out my landline number and everyone I know uses my mobile number.
I have a Apple scam locator on my mobile, 0330, is coming up as a suspect scam number, also, it doesn’t mean to say this is correct number, a bit like 0800, numbers, they have a number listed to them, that you can’t see??
0330s are not scam numbers inherently. Also calling the number and it not going through is not always bad either. Call centres like the DWP will have designated numbers as outbound call only. Also, your experience with the number sounds like a predictive / robo dialer that should drop you into a queue or to an available agent but does not always work like that
When I called the number I got "number not recognised" but with a UK accent and not a normal teleco one that I recognise. It would not surprise me if this number is genuine but cannot be certain.
It said that when I answered it. Which I found odd . They rang me then when I answered it, it said the review team no agents are available at the moment and they will call back . Then the phone went dead.
When I called I called it back from my landline ( I know I shouldn't) it says the review team we will put you thru to an advisor as soon as one becomes available.
I put the phone down.
I've had it before when I've had a missed call from the DWP and when I rang that number back it said . You were called today by the department of work and pensions. We will contact you again if we need to speak to you.
So that's why I questioned it . Usually of it is the DWP they say it is when you call the number back , even if it's not a number for you to call them on.
The lack of identifying info about DWP in the call or online attached to that number is why I would not say 100% it is genuine. I am dealing with scams and phishing every day as part of my "day job" If it is the DWP then blocking it will not make too much difference as they will have a pool of outbound numbers.
Yes I know that . So if it is a scam it's blocked. Just one less number to be concerned about.
I'm hoping the news is correct and the DWP and pip are going digital on line .
So you can see your award and review dates etc etc etc
It's about time in this day and age. I know they don't really want to because they don't want to be efficient so they can use blame culture for things not happening.
They are dealing with the most vulnerable of society and being able to see what's happening will help and awful lot of people alleviate some stresses.
