Thought of the Day

Thought I would repost this from my post some 5 yrs ago. I’ve missed out the pre-amble as it’s irrelevant now but the sentiment remains the same;

If the mountain seems too big today

Then climb a hill instead

If the morning brings you sadness

It’s ok to stay in bed.

If the day ahead weighs heavy

And your plans feel like a curse

There’s no shame in rearranging,

Don’t make yourself feel worse,

If a shower stings like needles

And a bath feels like you’ll drown

If you haven’t washed your hair for days,

Don’t throw away your crown.

A day is not a lifetime

A rest is not defeat,

Don’t think of it as failure,

Just a quiet, kind retreat

It’s ok to take a moment

From an anxious fractured mind,

The world will not stop turning

While you get realigned.

The mountain will still be there

When you want to try again,

You can climb it in your own time,

Just love yourself til then.

Definitely some people on here need to really think of souls like you who has perhaps been through so much more than many of us have in our entire lives.

This is very judgemental and not thinking of others. Who on here is telling all about their lives. We do not the mental struggles that people are going through, the stress their job places on them, the chaos of their family situation, or the lack of financial security that makes every decision a minefield.

Its a fibro group but just as we have supported others when they have had domestic violence, or have particular mental health conditions that they do not disclose but want support with their fibro.

Not meaning to be judgmental, was merely saying that what I read this lady has gone through and has fibromyalgia it’s just tragic. Some people have much less going on and some have much more.

we don’t know what’s going on behind the doors of this community obviously and I won’t deny that, merely saying this lady and her hardships just makes you step back and think “could my issues be less than this ladies are”

I hope i am making sense with what I am trying To say! I know what I am intending on communicating.

I think your response was harsh!Your point may be valid but I think you could have softened the language to explain yr take without diminishing another...

I think it makes you seem as if you are policing comments!

Given that you acknowledge the underlying distress of living with fibro and its many ramifications, maybe gentle understanding is the way forward...

Sorry that it comes across as harsh but the response was not in isolation although I will not add to that. It was not seeking to diminish anyone.

Unfortunately, I am policing comments as part of my role on here as a moderator. I will sometimes get the tone wrong as well but it was my intention to be stronger in tone in this case.

Obviously I'm not aware of the whole array of issues you have to deal with, on the forum and if the post read followed trends of being judgemental, then I can better understand your response...

Thank you 4 clarifying so promptly!

Dialogue always helps to understand each other better and maybe now I understand your role in a different light?

This is a great forum. Thank you to all involved. I come on here daily as I live alone most of the week+my friends+family still think I'm lazy for not achieving more, so to contribute+be heard here is a wonderful gift. Thank you.

I try and be as transparent as possible but also try and maintain confidentiality even although this is an anonymous forum. Getting the balance right is always a challenge.

You’re welcome, I was just looking through some of my previous jokey posts with my partner in crime dear ole Mattoid-mags when this one spoke to me and so I decided to to share it again. Apologies if anyone remembers it - I’m relying on fibro-fog to have descended so nobody recollects it😂

Of course I found it somewhere probably someone sent it to me when I was going through a tough time. Can’t recall when or where- I can blame fibro fog for that lack of recall. Or perhaps I’ve had too many rough patches to remember 😂🤣 who knows🤦‍♀️

Thank you Dinkie. I really enjoyed (and needed) to read that poem. It's just the advice I needed after stuff that happened last year. I have also found out about L D-E on Youtube and have discovered she also has a book. - There is a man called Steven Moore who is reading it on another youtube. - I shall be searching out this poetess occasionally from now on if my brain fog allows the recall!!! I wish you a good and trauma free 2025. xx KJ
