Hi I have chronic migraine, very sensitive to all medications. Have been offered botox but quite scared as could cause more issues and fibromyalgia pain is through the roof. Have had a bad migraine for 4 days no medication anyone gotvany ideas or been through similar. People just dont get how you live with fibromyalgia. I also have Fnd.

Magnesium helps a lot for migraines, especially transdermally!

It's also good for fibro pain too. 😉

I've had Chronic Migraines and Fibromyalgia, agmonst other things, since childhood. I think I'm currently at about 15 different treatments over the years. Sadly the newish CGRP antibody drugs didn't help so I'm back on Botox. In this session have had my 8 rounds, last one 3 weeks ago.Is there anything specific you are worried about? Personally I think Botox is one of the least invasive/problematic treatments you could be offered, if that's any consolation.

Thank you. I have functional neurological disorder and am scared how my body reacts to things. Where are you based ?

I'm based in Cambridge. My understanding of Functional Neurological Disorder is that is the name Doctors give to patients when they don't really know what's wrong with them? They diagnosed my friend with FND until she could show them evidence that she was having fits at night, then they rediagnosed her with epilepsy.

Hello,Whenever I have a migraine, I steep my feet in hot water and, weirdly, this helps. I have no idea how or why it helps, but it may be worth trying and maybe it will give you some relief. I hope you feel much better soon 🥰

If you are sensitive to medication you may not be able to tolerate it but my Dr put me on 20mg Amitriptyline (a very low dose) and that has stopped the migraines. Mine were more bright flashing moving lights than headaches though.

I've had migraines since I was 10 years old, so 60 years. I also have CFS, for 24 years plus chronic pain throughout my body and didn't find that the Botox affected any of the other conditions.5 years ago I started taking magnesium capsules, Dolovent, as recommended by my migraine consultant, unfortunately you cannot get these on NHS.

I also wear migraleve glasses from spring to autumn as the light is too bright.

I had Botox for the last 3 years, I had this in my forehead and neck until last December when it stopped working and now have CGRP which has stopped my migraines altogether.

I hope this helps
