Hello everyone. Does anyone know if you are entitled to other benefits whilst receiving pip?

Thankyou

Just Google…PIP ENTITLEMENT BENEFITS.

There is a long list…but that could all change after the General Election on

4 July

Thankyou. Think I might be doomed because my partner works.

I don’t know that much about PIP but I think it is based purely on how a disease affects the applicant as it isn’t means tested.

Hi Bertjolly,

Although PIP is not means tested, Other people who live in your home as a family unit will have to look at money that is coming in, If it works out the amount of money the government say we can live on then you would not get benefits on top,I'm not sure if it' s still the case, You can go on line and fill out a simple form on line,

No-one sees your answers and you will get an immediate response, Go on the government site and type in entitlement It should come up for you,

I hope you get the help you need

Take care

Hi. Yes, you can claim ESA if you are unable to work. You can actually receive PIP whilst you are working as well. It isnt linked to other benefits.

If you need info on benefits 'Benefits and work' website is a great resource for applying for benefits.

Hi, I get support ESA too. It depends on your savings on whether you can get universal credit, I think you can't have more than £6000.

Bertjolly profile image

Hi what's ESA?

redkite55 profile image
redkite55 in reply toBertjolly

It is employment support allowance. There are certain rules to get it and it depends on NI contributions, I had been working for 38 years, it is not means tested though if you get the put on the support ESA. I think some of the rules have changed now though for new applicants, the gov website was a bit confusing so I rang them and had a telephone interview. It was not like a pip interview and the man I spoke to was really friendly and chatty, at the end he said he couldn't tell me definitely if I would get an award but the outcome would be in my favour. If you have been working for a number if years it wouldn't hurt to apply, you never know.

That's great thanks so much. Appreciate your help with this.

I forgot to say there are different sorts of ESA ( think it's 3) and they give you different amounts. The support version is £138.20 a week and they pay it every 2 weeks, so quite a big help. Good luck.
