Hi there, you can get pip for any health issue providing you fit the PIP criteria. It's not what you have but how it effects you on a daily basis.

It very much depends on how your anxiety affects you. Obviously you will need to prove that you have anxiety though doctors letters etc and what treatment you have or are receiving. I have helped a couple of people claim pip with anxiety and I have found a supporting letter from someone who knows you on how your anxiety affects you. Give examples and what happens if your anxiety becomes a problem.

Supporting letters that outline your conditions, treatment plan, limitations can indeed help. OT/OH as well as doctor can be helpful but it is becoming more of a challenge to obtain supporting evidence like this. Also it is not always needed.

What I would say is that if you do obtain any information then copy it before sending.

While any proof of illness would be good if you have it. But unless things have changed it was never a requirement when applying for PIP.

Claimants are only required to send in evidence they already hold, such as copies of clinic letters – they are not told to contact their GP or health professional to obtain further evidence. There is no requirement for a statement from a GP or other health professional.

In my day if PIP wanted further evidence it was down to them to request it. Obviously the more information you can offer will help speed up the process.

Not what you're looking for?
