Hello everyone. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last January after a long period of pain and fatigue. I am now six weeks into a giant flare up and it is showing no sign of abating. I am in a lot of pain and have no energy at all. My GP upped my amytripilene and also my dose of sertraline but I don’t feel it’s making much difference. I can’t stay off work indefinitely and have appointment with a new GP on 2nd January. I would appreciate any recommendations to get to the other side of this as I am so fed up and very very down. I am not sure what is best to ask the GP for also. Generally finding they don’t really know how to treat this. I can’t take most pain killers as have Barrets Oesophagus. Thank you in advance.

massive flare up
So sorry to hear that you are in a lot of pain and feeling low. I found that a nice soak in a warm bath with Epsom Salts helped. I also used a Magnesium Spray on my legs once or twice a day helps too. I have a weighted blanket which helps me sleep because it seems to cuddle me! Also Lavender spray on my pillow helps with sleep too. I hope that you can get some relief soon. x
Hello, good you are seeing the doc in a couple of days for a review, Fibro flares are a nuisance ,especially when you have a job and I get it horrid for you🙁seems we can pick ourselves up too fall back down , it does seems people can jog along and then take a lengthy hit, totally get you feeling down ,I hope your doc is of help ,and I too always have my epsoms salts bath (I stock up the bags when I see them on offer anywhere) I now alternate between Radox muscle soak as I find every day the salts can dry my skin. , because of the damp cold weather I am using my hot water bottles under the duvet , I tend too watch the TV after my bath and get into bed as this is where I can get more comfortable in general , I have a Vshaped pillow too add too my ordinary bed pillows just for sitting up , very useful. I hope you find the forum helpful for info and advice xx
Hi
I'm so sorry you are in a bad flare, I know this feeling only too well!! I have a heated blanket, also a heated wrap which you wrap around yourself (it does say don't sleep with this on) and my weighted blanket. I do hope you manage to sleep. I have an hour or less sleep per night due to pain from my many conditions!! Write down what you want to ask your GP. I always do this as I forget everything I want to ask if I don't write it down!! Don't leave until you are happy your GP has listened to you and helped you in every way they can!! Good luck with your appointment. Please take care.
Lots of love and hugs Lynne xxxx 💜💟
