Hi I have had a flare up just before Christmas, and for the first time in 59 years I had to have a sick note, it was for 6 weeks in all but I went back to work to early, it started with sore skin, I felt like my work polo shirt felt like sandpaper, it was terrible, then nearly everything I wore was so rough on my skin, so I ended up working from home I could only where, soft tea shirt type clothes, I had to change my bedding, and everything I wore, it just got worse, I had to type with cotton gloves on inside out because I couldn’t stand the seams, I slightly caught my finger on the table, I almost screamed the place down, my fingers hurt for days, I’m of work again, had to have my medication increased, I am now suffering fatigue and bad brain fog, and days it feels my legs are burning off, I get pain in my arm muscles, pain in my shoulders, in my arm pits, it is so difficult to explain all of this, people think you’re an hypochondriac, I get, “there’s always something wrong with you” people don’t understand the condition rules your life Many thanks for letting me write this

I feel alone in this condition too especially when a lot of people don’t understand what you are going through

Your so right, my family also say there is always something wrong with you! It makes you feel like a hypochondriac.

Part of me feels like apologising for visiting the GP practice as much as I do with Fibromyalgia or another of my ailments. Fortunately I have a good GP practice. It must be awful for those who don’t.

My friend recently insisted I see the GP about a new symptom I experienced when out for a walk with my husband. During the walk I had a weakness in the right limbs and 10 minutes later a loss of movement in one leg for 2 minutes.

To my surprise it turns out to have been a mini stroke. At the time I thought it was just another new symptom of Fibromyalgia and passed it of.

My husband was a bit surprised too as he thought it was me moaning yet again!

that’s terrible, this is the problem, because fibromyalgia throws up so many other things, we put everything down to that, never really knowing if it is something really serious, I hope you’re ok x

It’s good we can chat here and compare notes with a great understanding of what Fibro can be like on a daily basis, it does seem if we knock ourselves it feels 10 times worse ☹️you sound like you differently need this time at home ,the other day I put some cream on from a well known brand , it did have ginger as one of the ingredients my goodness I felt like I was on fire 🙁I cannot bear too have anything on my arms and legs so in Winter if I go out I cannot wait too off load any jumpers etc. Be kind too yourself and rest , hopefully soon you will feel better, flares are no fun 🙁x

I can’t put anything on my skin, only Nivia, I have to ware long sleeve tea shirts under everything, that’s worth a try, be gentle with your skin, it’s the worst thing I have ever had,

I hope your pain settles down soon. Unless you have fibro, then I don't think anyone can really understand how bad it can be. There have been plenty of times when the pain has left me in tears and it sometimes feels like life is not worth living.

One hour at a time. Difficult, I know. Gentle hugs, you are certainly not on your own. 🤗🤗

Hi Kathy

I'm so sorry your feeling so rubbish but I totally sympathise with you as I am going through similar right now and having so many days of work due to not being able to keep my eyelids open, I've fallen asleep in work but it's just a good job I work for my father and I am in my own office otherwise I'd be jobless right now. My whole body hurts. It feels as I can feel every tiny bone in my body, even in my feet hands etc. I'm not sleeping and when I do I wake soaking wet through with night sweats. I feel like I have dementia as I forget my kids names and pets. Call people by other people's names. Forget appointments etc.

I've actually just gotten jntouch with my Dr as I also think as I'm 44 that I am starting my menopause as my pain is so much worse around my cycle. Have you noticed anything like that yourself ?.

I've also had a injection of B12 yesterday to see if that will put a bomb up my backside .

I hope it passes soon or your medication change helps as I know how awful it feels . It's just nice that we can chat to eachother who actually understand how we feel as its so hard to explain exactly how we are to " normal " people.

Take care and try and keep as positive as you can. I know it's hard but it helps xx

Hi Flowerface,

Hope your feeling a bit better, certainly brain fog, lethargy and other symptoms sound like early stages of menopause, I’ve been through it but can still get the symptoms 2/3 later or 10 years if unlucky I was told. My vitamin B12 level is really high I was taking 1 B12 tablet a day as I was feeling very tired now it stated my B22 is at 1287 normal range is 197-771 so was not told by the doctor to stop taking it but now I feel so tired all the time, I don’t know if my body is not absorbing it properly, hope you get sorted.

Hi very lucky for me, I had a hysterectomy at 42 so I haven’t had to go through the menopause, my god my heart goes out to you, I don’t think I would have coped with that as well,

I had my granddaughter christening on Sunday, I couldn’t hold her so I haven’t got a photo of just us two which I desperately wanted, she’s 2 so not so little, it’s things like that makes me sad x

I feel for you and everybody else. I hope researchers can find out what is the key to ending all our suffering and silence the unkindness and contempt from others very soon. Soft hugs to you and all. xx
