i have been suffering with BMS for nearly a year now I find evening the worst cannot seem to keep my tongue still! it’s if it’s always searching for moisture exhausting sometimes, now I seem to have developed oral thrush 🙄oh the joy but reading on here doesn’t seem like I’m alone.ice lollies are my go to just freezes my mouth for awhile

Hi there, I see there is so many possibilities for BMS. Personally fibro would not be high on my list. Though it could be a possibility. I would never rule anything out where fibro is concerned.

Here are but a few reasons for BMS. Allergies to dental products, dental materials (usually metals), or foods. Dry mouth, which can be caused by certain disorders (such as Sjögren's syndrome) and treatments (such as certain drugs and radiation therapy). Certain medicines, such as those that reduce blood pressure. Are just a few caused for BMS.

Hi Blackhairbrush666I have Sjogrens, I have a genetic condition and autoimmune problems.

I have times when the roof of my mouth peels and feels burnt but don't recall eating something too hot.

My gums become pinker.

I did have bouts of thrush. Stress and gut health seem to affect my mouth. Less sugar ,more water and probiotics everyday have given more balance. I use prebiotics if I feel my gut is getting angry or not working well.

With you having thrush, probiotics and less sugar may help. I was very surprised what foods have sugar in.

I got stuck in the antibiotic cycle that affects gut flora.

Line Dizzytwo and Gigiruth have said many reasons for dry mouth.

There is a product called Biotene gel which can be applied to clean mouth it produces moisture and works great unless you have thyroid problems. It will block thyroid absorption so having now no thyroid hormones because my autoimmune disease stopped it’s functioning I’ve had to stop the gel use. There is also a Biotene spray for traveling..rinse mouth with bottle water well before using.

I also have Sjogrens Syndrome which has blocked my cells from making moisture so I take Evoxac capsules 1 every 12 hours to keep my cells making moisture they work great for me.

Be sure to get your thrush treated and cured…there is an anti fungal mouth rinse to hold swish and swallow to cure thrush I don’t know the name…my brother used it when he had to take lots of antibiotics as his health failed He just passed so I can’t ask him what the thrush medication was called

I occasionally get burning sensation of my mouth. I buy the best quality unsalted chicken broth and get a mouthful holding it for a few minutes in my mouth then swish it around in my mouth before swallowing it. In your case you could keep the broth in ice cubes so it’s good and cold and sip on it holding swishing swallowing until gone. Do this several times a day.

I use ice lolly for that too ,it’s a misery mine is very dry mouth it’s a misery my tongue is very sore and I keep biting my lip .I hat it it hurts so bad .xx

Hi sweetie thank you I need your prayers I’m getting repeated UTIS just finished one lot of antibiotics day later it’s back and dr asked for a sample to send off and meanwhile I have to suffer pain probably until Monday it’s so unfair . How are you sweetie . Xx💕💕

Thanks for inquiring sweetie Things have been very difficult since my brother passed in March My 94 y o blind dad caught my brother’s COVID total hospital and rehab stay 4 months so damaged clinging to life per his GP Hubby taking him to doctor now

I’m on a new meds for my severe diabetes and it’s really making me sick 5 days a week One good day and then time for another weekly dose… gets even worse when medication is increased Started my maintenance dose last night Had a real strong reaction to it Got to endure it because my A1C was 11.75 quoting my GP “lose body parts bad” My brother had his diabetes 15 years sooner and was helping guide me but I’ve lost that aid since he passed

Still can’t sleep in my bed Do catnapping in my wheeledchair don’t really sleep or rest well sitting up

Other than this I’m good

I have tried cranberry capsules and still take them everyday couldn’t take the probiotics they upset me .I have them so so often I’m hoping I’m not developing resistance to them .

Im so sorry to hear you still have horrible times with health and not being able to sleep in bed that’s horrible ,mind you I can’t stay in bed long because of pain that if I don’t get up turns to restless legs and body.

I remember about your brother it’s so sad when you loose a family member ,I lost my brother ten years ago and it was and still is horrible .Your dad sounds quite poorly I’m sorry for that .Just do the best you can sweetie it’s all we can do .I will be praying for you sweet friend .I pray our Heavenly Father will relieve us of some of our health problems Amen.🥰🥰🙏🏻🙏🏻

Have you tried the chicken broth???

It’s my first go to when I have GI upsets. I have hiatal hernia GERD IBS/M and peptic ulcer disease Sjogrens plus fibro oh too depressing to go on…

But GI upset I use chicken broth and you’d be surprised how much better your tract feels; well at least for me. If it can’t help I’m sorry it won’t work for you hun.

I sure wish I had some physical ability to heal you. Praying is my only resource sweetie. I will discuss more on chat.
