I have been diagnosed with rls as well as fibro and am trying to seperate the 2 conditions symptoms wise. Do many of you guys get burning in your arms and legs ? But haven't been diagnosed with rls ?

I get burning in my feet and hands, and lower arms and legs. I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy. Is is the same as ris? It as accompanied with increased sensation (pain mostly) in these ares.
Keep well
Hi sisterblue
Restless Leg Syndrome is more not being able to keep your legs still (especially at night) and having lots of jerky movements in them.
It does have other symptoms that these are the main ones.

Hi Lu,
Thank you, I know this I have suffered extreme RSL to the point where I was up at night every 10 mins, and little or no sleep. I always considered it the worst symptom I have. But the pramipexole sorts out much of it, and although sometime not all, it is under some control at least, and I get good sleep.
The burning/peripheral neuropathy is something else. I didn't know I had it until the neurologist pricked my lower leg and told me I had extra sensations in my lower limbs which he called peripheral neuropathy.
I'm sorry if I gave the impression that I had muddled the two. I just have both. I posted in the hope that my experience might be of help to anyone else suffering from either of these two symptoms.
All best

Hi rb76
I get a "burning" type of pain with my Fibro.
I don't have RLS .
Sometimes it is almost impossible to separate out which symptom is coming from what condition.
I have many conditions to contend with and I don't always know which symptom is coming from which illness.
Take care of yourself

Hi rb76 I'm afraid it is very difficult to differentiate between the 2. Although they are classed as seperate conditions. I have nerve damage, (peripheral neuropathy) and I suffer with my back & feet, I also have RLS which is absolutely unbearable at times, more with pain & having to constantly move & stretch them & rub them.
My daughter gets the same burning sensation in her tummy & she has had 2 cesareans & was told it was down to damaged nerves
I do also get a lot of pain in my upper arms which also feels like its burning at times, but more pain & heavy, aching feelings. I think these are all fibro related though because fibro is all over body pain. Everyone is so different though, it's a very complex condition really & like a lot of ppl.with fibro do have other conditions. I have Polymyalgia and Osteoarthritis with Fibro, even the specialist find it hard to know which is flaring & what medication to give me at times.
Anyway, hope this helps somewhat my friend ☺

Yea I get burning pains in my arms and legs, it feels like a deep burning inside the muscle, if that makes sense, I do get rls as well but separate from the burning pain xx
Yes I get burning in my arms and legs when the Fibro flares up, as well as stabbing and tingling pains. I don't have rls.
I get burning pain in arms, legs, feet and especially fingers. I can only describe it as feeling like someone poking red hot wire up under my skin deep into my muscles and veins. Ive not been diagnosed with RLS. I do find my feet rapidly moving without me being aware of it but not sure if this is a nerve thing? I have other conditions as well as fibro. hugs Joolz.x
Hello I get burning in my lower back my wrists and my legs I've not heard of rls I may have to check this out with my doc x
I get burning as well love and can never get comfy in bed always movin from one end of bed to other x
Hi rb76,
I've been diagnosed with rls and neuropathic pain. Still waiting to see if I have fibro. My legs and arms get so hot you could fry an egg on them! I can't stand any cover on them at night. All of my other pain (osteoarthritis in my left hip, knee and the lower part of my spine) comes and goes. My legs and arms, that's the pain that never goes or eases. I take Pregabalin,Nefopam, Fluoxitine, Ropinerole, Trazadone, Glucosamine and Paracetamol/Ibuprofen. My best friend is my TENS machine that I'm constantly attached to. I think rls and fibro seem to have a lot of overlapping symptoms. I also think there may be a small link between them.
Take Care
