Burning Mouth Syndrome
No, I don't but hope you feel better soon!! Take care . Peck.🐤
Hi BeezyB
I was diagnosed with Burning Mouth Syndrome by my dentist about 6 weeks ago.
She told me that it was classic symptoms of B12 deficiency.
She also advised me to get some Vitamins and some Daktarin cream (which is actually a gel) from the chemist.
It may be worth asking your GP if you can be tested for a B12 deficiency.
I told my dentist that my mouth was incredibly sore and when I cleaned my teeth it burned like mad. She said "that's why it's called Burning Mouth Syndrome" !
Lu xx
I do have similar, sore tongue cracking in places and storing food and other oral debris! upper gums get sore and loose soft tissue, I have been having checks at the Dental hospital for years to see if its Sjorgrens.. I do have B12 injections twice yearly from G.P
Can you take a picture of article? Appreciated : )
Ok
I have same symtoms, its all drugs I'm using, I'm going to try and cut down and just. use paretemol, finding mental health symptoms getting almost worst than pain x
Ok
I have pain in my mouth and am under our local dental hospital- I was referred because of a dry mouth and was investigated for sjorgens syndrome which I don't have. Along with the dry mouth I get a couple of different types of pain , one is pain when I eat thing s for example even mildly spicy food. I also get a pain which feels almost like an allergy when I eat toast ( at the back of my mouth in the roof) but not always. Then I get pain in my gums - usually near the back, they swell and the pain goes up to sensitivity and soreness on my cheek and in my eye. I'm seeing the rheumatologist later so am seeing if these things are fibro related. The dental hospital diagnosed 'burnt mouth syndrome' xx
Misery hu!? Be interested in what Rheumatologist says...Take care
It is miserable I agree. The rheumatologist would say if the pain in my mouth is anything to do with fibro as he isn't a dentist! But he did say that it could well be as the soreness on my cheek and in my eye are probably due to the sensitivity of the nerve endings. He also said that the majority of fibro symptoms would reduce in intensity if fibro and even go if people with fibro had much more sleep and a better quality nights sleep. He is a big advocate of sleep problems being a big part of the sensitivity of nerves . I don't go to bed that early as I can't sleep if I do but I think I am going to give having more sleep a bit of a try and see what impact it has. I'll try to let you know about the dental hospital when I go at the end of October . Take care , hugs
Very true on lack of sleep 4 ALL conditions...I've had it on outer lips plus cheek & nose burning too. Funny my dentist wouldn't Dx as BMS wanted me see EN&T specialist. All different! ! Figure it'll just move on like other nerve pain to new spot of misery.
Yes I agree , the different specialists seem to have different ideas on who should see you. I haven't had the pain in my lips but they are incredibly sensitive to touch these days and even my make up brushes feel painful on my face sometimes - such a miserable condition . Take care
I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are suffering in this way and I sincerely hope that you can find the answers that you are looking for. It is not something that I personally have but I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck.
All my hopes and dreams for you
