I lost 10 points from my mobility section on PIP even thou my condition has worsened. I lost the points on planning journey section. Has anyone had this happen to them and the points put back on on appeal?

Hi Smudger119,

Sorry you lost points, same thing happened to me. It was on the telephone assessment when I was asked about planning a journey. You have to think about the very worst scenario you have experienced when planning a journey. Not on the rare occasion you struggle terribly, both mentally and physically but somehow manage to get through the ordeal suffering the consequences afterward.

I went for a Mandatory Reconsideration with the help of Fightback4Justice. They do charge for the service but it was money well spent because I got the points back.

Love and Blessings

Hi, I haven’t lost any points as of yet as I’ve not had a review yet but I explained in my application that I suffer with anxiety and cannot plan a journey due to this and I have always been very unorganised especially so with brain fog nowadays and even thinking of a trip sends me into panic and anxiety attacks weeks before. My daughter used to have to plan it for me and I would have to always have her on the phone to speak to along the way for reassurance and to try and keep me calm. It got so bad that I haven’t made any trips for at least 4 -5 years. I miss going to see my old friend up north but I just can’t do it. Trains in particular are the worst and I couldn’t even contemplate it if it meant a change of trains which this particular trip did. And yet the assessor actually said that I was lying basically so didn’t get any points for it anyway. This did upset me to feel that someone didn’t believe me when it is the truth, this hurt more than not getting the points for that section. But I eventually let it go as it was causing me more anxiety than it was worth but I do wish that people would understand what it is like and not think we all just make things up x

thank you for all your advise. I don’t do public transport as it causing me anxiety and I don’t go anywhere on my own. I find the whole PIP process draining and affects my mental health even after it’s done the waiting is horrendous to the point I get anxious opening any post. I had to change cars from a manual to automatic which has built in sat nav I go out at most 3 times a week but on most occasions my mum will drive as even trying to find a parking space stresses me. Iv appealed and now have up to 8 weeks to wait.

I lost all my mobility as well, even though I'm worse. My assessment was awful, she made out fibomyralgia was not a disability, she made me feel bad about myself. So I now get considerable less money, I haven't appealed yet xxxxxxxxxxx

Yes they make you feel like you’re lying. I have several issues that all affect my mental and physical health so I am appealing as I feel it is right and I’d say if you feel it has got worse then appeal it. Good luck
