hello to you all- I just wanted to know if there’s anyone else experiencing delays when making a request for my medications? I have been on gapapentin 300mg three times a day, co-coda ol 30/500 two four times a day and amiltriptaline 20mg once daily. I have osteoarthritis, joint hyper mobility and fibromyalgia for many years and am 58 years of age. I usually do an online repeat request which goes to the pharmacy but then find that I have to go to gp and make a new request in person. The receptionist is none the wiser as to why this is happening.
Thank you all for your time, support and wealth of knowledge offered on this site. I have to say it keeps me sane! X

Good name 😁yes, is the answer to your question. I had to spend an hour with two drs last Thursday because my repeat meds have got so mixed up. I have been on co codamol for a while and I found out on at the appointment that ‘ someone’ had written Patient preference’ which apparently meant that it was at my request to stop them! I had done no such thing as obviously they are an aopiod and we are always told not to just stop taking them. Apart from that they are the only thing along with naproxen that even touches my pain and so as I couldn’t get an appointment for a month! I had to buy over the counter pain killers which didn’t go anywhere near to helping. Plus I am 62 and don’t pay now for my meds. The lovely gp who only started at the surgery the week before had to go and get a more experienced dr to help sort all the other things out too as they hadn’t sent any of my other meds to the pharmacy either and it took them an hour! It’s caused me a lot of pain and anxiety over the past month so I am really hoping when they are due next that the same thing doesn’t happen again 😞x
I get mines put into a blister pack and collect it but it's for monthly so I don't need to keep going down to the chemist the chemist and docs where I live are a joke they're always losing prescriptions! Hope u get it sorted but I was on that much gabapentin I was forgetting what to take so that's why I got a blister pack and now get it monthly basis its so much better
Our new, but somewhat overzealous pharmacist twice cancelled the Duloxetine element of my repeat prescription bundle that the GP had allowed me to “stockpile” before a long trip abroad so I didn’t run out.
The second time she did it I asked to speak to her. She had written W/D on the duloxetine as she said she had reviewed it on the system and I should not have more than a month unless I was abusing it.
I calmly told her I had had a discussion with the GP as was going abroad and running out would be v difficult (as in I would seize up and not be able to get home).
To be fair she blushed to the roots of her hair and had that duloxetine in my hands in 24h.
But yeah - life is hard enough without this kind of caper!!
Morning Ajay, I’ve got an online account with my surgery giving me access to my medical records appointments booking and cancellations if required. Repeat prescriptions which I have sent on a weekend so not actionable till Monday on phoning the pharmacy the Tuesday I am informed the medication will be delivered that afternoon.
Hi I am having such a nightmare with the GP pharmacist at the moment,They are ringing me every 8 weeks reducing my monthly prescription of tramodol and pregablin to the extent I have needed to borrow from a relative to get on top of my pain.
I have told them they are harassing me and going above and beyond their pay grade.
I have explained to them that I am under a pain clinic consultant who specialises in pain and has prescribed the meds for me personally.
I told him that he is not a consultant and I don't mean to be rude but put himself in my shoes and see if he can manage my pain as some days I feel so bad I'd rather not be here.
That I would love to not take any tablets and be pain free and that I am a relatively intelligent woman and know the side effects of taking opiods but some days life without this medication is somewhat unbearable.
He said he will speak to my GP and see what he can do.
