I’m beginning to suspect I might have fibromyalgia. Does it move around the body (ie shoulder, hands & legs) and is this normal? I was told a couple of years ago by an Endocrinologist that I might have it and would need physio. I totally dismissed it and went for a 2nd opinion, but this pain is back and now moving around with a vengeance. At night, its hard to turnaround in bed and waking up first thing in the morning I feel so old. Is this something you are experiencing? Any advice/comments welcomed.

Hi, yes fibromyalgia pain can move around the body ... Which makes it even more frustrating. I might get up in morning and main area of pain is lower back, by lunchtime it's affecting my hands and come bedtime it might be my legs and feet that are worst xxx
Thanks for replying Hazel_Angelstar. How do you cope? Are you on pain killers and what treatment have been offered?
It sure does head to toe xx
Me too!! Take care Lynne
Yes it sometimes moves around and other times it’s all over. Living hell - that’s how I describe it!
Hi ms_vonnie
I'm afraid it does move! I guess with age everyone feels some sort of aches & pains especially in the morning! So having fibro means you feel these aches tenfold due to the disordered nervous and brain system. Getting up in the morning I feel 90! Stiff for a few hours and it isn't until evening I feel 'good'! I constantly have buttock & hip ache but can also get between the shoulders, feet, shoulder, knee neck and rib pain, all of varying degrees throughout the day! I also have a bad back and everyone I meet says 'how your back today?' and it's easier to go along with what they think I suffer from rather than go through the list of pains I have!Welcome to the wonderful world of fibromyalgia!
Hi, yes it definitely sounds like you have! I was diagnosed 10 years ago and i have got worse each year unfortunately! I struggle to turn over in bed as the pain is so bad and when i have to go to the toilet at night its horrendous as by the time ive managed to move and sit up, then start to shuffle with the stiffness i only just make it. Its horrific sometimes and im 49. Im on fentanyl patches with ora morph for break through pain as nothing else works for me but now they are trying to stop the ora morph. I have been too physio with hopes it would help but didnt really.
Sorry i sound like debbie downer but some days it just gets too me. If i can help in any way or maybe suggest something you havnt tried that may help you please message
Thanks for replying Katykin49, your pain seems to have started very young. My pain has now extended down to one of my knees and making walking difficult at times. I try to deal with the pain by bathing with Epsom salt and using deep heat, as I don’t like taking painkillers.
