HiCan anyone tell me what pain relief they are on for fibromyalgia? I currently take zapain which doesn't really do anything. I tried amitriptyline but it made my fatigue 10 times worse.

Thanks

Hi Zapain makes me very constipated.

I'm taking tramadol SR (slow release)

1 morning and 1 around 6pm.

The slow release tramadol works out 12 hours in the system compared the the normal tramadol about 6 hours.

I've tried amitriptyline, duloxetine, pregabalin with no joy.

Does tramadol make you drowsy?

No, I don't get any side effects from taking them.

Buprenorphine patches, Gabapentin and Baclofen

Hi I also used to take zapain and have tried amitrypyline , I found slight benefit from the zapain but not enough and absolutely nothing from the amitriptyline. I'm now on 300 mg of pregablin 3 times a day now and I still have pain but this has been the best yet .hope you get sorted xx

Hi chocoronnie, yes I'm on zapain aswell and it doesn't help much it just takes the edge off a lil, to be honest nothing really works for pain and I have tried everything from pregab tramadol diazapam morphin they just take the edge off which is still not great because taking the edge off the pain is still 7to8

Hiya. I have a number of pain conditions but I’d say fibro causes the most severe symptoms. I’m on Cocodamol (Zapain) or Solpadol (same but double the strength) and 87.5mg of Amitriptyline every evening. Amitriptyline will make you very tired and drowsy initially but that does wear off. I found it very effective for pain initially but had to increase my dose every few months when I’d have a flare - I went 10, 20, 40, 50, 87.5mg. I’ve been on 87.5mg for 18 months now and it has all but stopped working but I’ve had some great advice on this forum about tapering down to increase back up, or a temporary switch. I plan to talk to my GP about which is best.

On days I take a break from cocodamol I get relief from strong CBD oil or capsules. Heat also helps, a warm bath can take the edge off for an hour!

I tried anti epileptics (gabapentin) but they weren’t for me at all, but I know others find them good.

I tried amytriptalene and pregabalin and was intolerant to both. I now take Low dose naltrexone and methocarbamol when I need it for muscle spasm.

I also take Zapain and 75mg amitriptyline. I tried CBD oil high strength capsules and it helped for a while. I get caught in a bit of a merry-go-round as I also have osteoarthritis and Long Covid so I’m never sure which is causing the flare-up. My daughter-in-law has found some relief with the CBD oil so it’s worth a shot.

I take gabapentin, cyclobenzaprine, omeprazol, hydrchlorothiazide & lasinopril. I take cannabis oil pills for pain and use cannabis for flare ups or instant relief and I use cannabis for sleep. Cannabis works best for my pain.
