Sorry Fibrofog 🤗🙏🌸🦋

I have restless leg syndrome. I try to do leg stretches. I do 10 then walk around for about 5 minutes then 10 more stretches.

I hope this will work for you too. If not try an Epsom salts soak for about 10 minutes if you can tolerate it. This salts are supposed to relax muscles it always did for me.

Best wishes for success.

Love and prayers.

EJ 🤗♥️🥰🙏🕊🌿🌸🦋

It's so hard when the RLS disturbs your sleep. As Honeybug says some gentle leg stretches and foot and ankle rotations a few times through the day can help.

Keep you legs raised during the day when you sit to improve the blood flow in your legs.

Keeping well hydrated through the day also helps reduce the stiffness in your joints and pain in general.

Do you have the bottom of your bed raised a few inches or do you have a long pillow to raise your feet and calves on , this does help.

A Magnesium supplement after the evening meal , and rubbing on a magnesium based lotion or spray to your lower legs can also reduce the pain and tingling.

If you can't sleep ,and the legs are the cause, rotating your feet or getting up and having a little potter around your room can help .

Even if you can't sleep it's good to try to relax and give your body rest. Breath deeply with your eyes closed in a comfy position and slowly think about relaxing each part of your body from foot to head. If you can keep relaxed you are more likely to be able to drop off naturally often getting stressed about not going to sleep makes it harder.

Hope it improves soon, take care , Bee

It's mainly because my ibs was playing up that makes them worse than what they are normally. I will give what you said a go. I'm going on Amazon now to get some magnesium xx

Do you know what might have flared your IBS?Do you only get pain and spasms or more unpleasant problems?

Do you take anything to help with it?

It is odd isn't it , but I do notice that when my IBS gets worse my legs become more painful as well.

I use Magnesium Spray on my legs every morning after my shower, it has worked wonders for me! Good luck with yours, hope you get good results after using it. xx

I take Mebeverine and peppermint oil for it.And Lopermide to help it when I have to keep going to the loo.

My ibs certainly does affect my legs, and this episode with my legs was awful. I just couldn't lie still. X

RLS is awful, agree with everyone else magnesium is the first thing I try too and not just a few sprays, totally coat your legs in it and rub it in. If you've never used it before it may be a bit nippy on first application but it'll be fine after a few minutes and won't be nippy when you apply it again.

I sometimes use a magnesium lotion (lavender) on my legs, arms & shoulders before bed. The other thing I use is a vibration plate, I've used them for years and find them so good for my legs. I know some can't tolerate them but might be worth a try?

Hope tonight's better for you! 😴

Try Buscopan. It is available over the counter and/o your doctor can give you it on prescription. Don't get worried about it saying that it is for IBS, basically it is a muscle pain relief medicine and it works with most types of muscle pain. Good luck x

I'm already on pepper mint oil and I'm on muscle relaxant but they don't work on my legs.

I usually sleep well, thanks to the Amitriptyline that I take when I go to bed. If you can’t get to sleep the best thing to do is either read a book, do a crossword/puzzle or play a silly game on your mobile until you do get sleepy. According to all the advice out there, it is better to do something to distract your mind from the discomfort/whatever is going round in your mind, than tossing and turning desperately trying to get to sleep.

On the odd occasion I can’t sleep I will be doing solitaire etc on my mobile well into the early hours of the morning. It work for me.

Also have a warm bath before bed.

Good luck.❤️

Get your iron levels checked. I found I had low ferritin stores and b12 levels. Since I sorted that out, I haven't had restless legs.

I'm on Ferrous fumarate for iron, and b12 tablets

Was going to add low ferritin goes with restless legs…have you tested your levels since you started ferrous fumarate? Oddly tho taking high levels for months they never really raised my ferritin levels above 50, I found eating black pudding 3x a week raised it to 70, and recently started an iron spray. My guts didn’t like the ferrous fumarate, even with vit. C…it is recommended to take it alternative days.

My last blood test confirmed my levels were fine. But I'm having another blood test done next Friday.
