More symptoms?

Hi all. Recently diagnosed with multiple Tendinopathy and fibro. I've recently started feeling really cold. Normally I don't really feel cold, I wear shorts practically days of the year. Last night I had trousers on, scarf, under a blanket and my teeth were literally chattering like in a cartoon. This morning I was laying on the floor(most comfortable place for neck pain) and the light through window from a cloudy sky was hurting my eyes.Is this normal for fibro? It's pretty crappie if it is

Hello, a lot of fibro members do say they suffer with light sensitivity myself included, could you tell me what Tendinopathy is ?

It's a bit like tendinitis. So tendons around my body get inflamed, the worst of it is in my neck, but its in my hands, feet, elbows, knee, ribs. Everywhere, basically, but fortunately not all at once

Combine that with fibro and its not much fun

Thankyou for replying and explaining to me, does heat help at all ? my daughter has just brought me a long hot water bottle you can fill and wrap around my neck , I use ibroufen rub in gel for my knee (wear and tear/arthritis set in ,so much for all the excercises I’ve done over the years ☹️also when I’m resting the hot water bottles does help,

I put a hot bottle on my neck when it is bad, and I cuddled one last night to get warm.

I, too, have issues with going cold and the best thing that has helped me is a heat pad you can buy from Dumelm they are £15.00 and work.

they are flat so you can put them anywhere you need them. Give them a go as it worked for me . Good luck

A friend bought us a heated blanket, I get under that when I'm feeling cold. If I can get it away from the dog

Hi Baker Tom

As far as temperature goes I seem to fluctuate between cold and hot.

Freezing one minute, too hot in the next and then suddenly freezing again.

It's so frustrating - like having constant menopausal hot flashes!

I have a small storage footstool in the living room, which I keep small blankets in ready for the cold moments.

As far as the fluctuations go I tend to dress in layers so I can add or take off to help regulate more.

Not a perfect solution but it helps.

I have also reverted to hot water bottles and/or wheat bags when I needed more of a heat boost!

Ahh the dreaded WTS (wonky thermostat syndrome) Yes I suffer from it and it is never the same from day to day. One day I'm in my thermals when it is tropical outside and other times I am in a tee shirt when we have snow. Just one of the little jokes fibro plays on us.

Hi, try a heated throw. Quite rare when I'm really freezing. I'm usually the opposite, mostly bouncing from boiling to cold, another one with a wonky thermostat but throws are great, heat you up in no time and they're low cost on the electric. Sorry but it's another yes to the light sensitivity, seems to affect all or some of the senses in everyone.

Every year at the start of summer, after about 3 days of sun, I get really down. I'm a baker so I'm up early, I think it's just too much brightness through the day for me

Strange isn't it? Usually it's the other way round when people get (sad) seasonal affective disorder. We really are 'special' aren't we?!🙄🤣🤣

Yep me too, apparently its a symptom of Fibromyalgia that we can't regulate our body temperature. The best thing I brought was an electric blanket. When I'm in pain I wrap it around my legs and it soothes it a bit.

I also got a cooling mat from Amazon, its meant to be a single size but its smaller. Its great to lie on when I'm hot or having night sweats.

A cooling mat is a good idea. I'm going to get one for the inside of my pillow case to see if it helps me to sleep at night.

Definitely a symptom of fibromyalgia but also a symptom of thyroid issues. I’d see my GP and request a thyroid function test to be on the safe side.

I also have been diagnosed with multiple tendinopathy which hurts immensely. No-one has explained to me what this actually involves or how to cope with it. Yes I am freezing cold all the time unless it is dry weather over 25 degrees. I also have Ankylosing Spondylitis, fibromyalgia, heart disease and spinal stenosis so I think I just bore the medical 'professionals' now!

Heck, that is a lot! They've just been chucking painkillers at it, and given me some exercises to do. Some days it's really bad. Yesterday I could hardly move, not too bad today thankfully. Just being careful not to do too much
