I have been really suffering with my fibro recently, so the hospital have prescribed me Amitriptyline. But I recently wanted to try for another baby, I'm a little concerned on trying this medication during trying for a baby, just after some advice?
I have undiagnosed but suspected AS, the reason it's in limbo is my MRI and symptoms display typical startings of AS, also my dad has it, but I do not carry the gene. So they want to wait 12 months and check by MRI again.
I have fibro and also endometriosis, feeling really crappy recently, in a lot more pain than usual, can't sleep well atal, the rhematologist advised me fibro flares up with lack of sleep? So prescribed these for me to try.. X

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I have pasted you an extract from the WebMD and it gives a warning about pregnancy. So it really is advisable to discuss your hopes and situation with your GP or Medical Specialist?
AMITRIPTYLINE WARNINGS
It should not be used in: children under 6 years of age when used for night-time bedwetting, children under 16 years of age when used for depression, women who are pregnant, likely to become pregnant or who are breastfeeding, those who have heart problems such as a recent heart attack (myocardial infarction), an irregular heartbeat (known as arrhythmias, and particularly the type called heart block), severe liver problems, the blood disease known as porphyria, and during the manic phase in patients - such as those with bipolar disorder - who experience this mental symptom, or in patients taking a drug called a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) within 14 days.
AMITRIPTYLINE is quite an old drug, it was first used as an antidepressant and later as a Migraine suppressant. It is now widely used for many medical conditions, but I would definitely discuss this as I said at the start of my reply to you?
I'm on Amitriptyline and Lyrica. They seem to work well together. Lyrica morning and night, Amitriptyline in the evening with Tegretol - for my epilepsy but also used for FM.
you must remind the doctor every time they prescribe you something new, that you also have such and such a condition and will it effect it? In your case, is it suitable to take when trying for a baby. Don't rely on their memory!

There are newer drugs than amitriptyline that are considered more effective but they may be contraindicated for pregnancy. I would discuss the meds with the consultant again stressing that you intend becoming pregnant.
You can help fibro symptoms with other non-med things like Vit C & D, etc and Rhus Tox helps me I find though again I would discuss with medics or a homeopath about pregnancy.
