Hi I'm on duloxetine, in all honesty I can't say if it helps, but what I do know on a personal level is last year when I stopped taking it, I noticed a big difference, so obvs gone back on it. To me anything is worth a try. If it works.......fantastic! If it doesn't, try something else 👍
I take duloxetine and it has been a life saver! Almost no side effects and pain is much better managed. Also has added bonus of helping with depression. I'm very grateful for this medicine!
Hi. Yep, I'd highly recommend it. I've tried a variety of painkillers now. Pregabalin made me fat and pre-diabetic. I put on over 2 stone in less than a year. I then tried tramadol - made me itch everywhere. Been on dulexotine for about 2 months now. I sleep like a log now. No nightmares anymore. I am out for the count. I have to go to bed early though as it makes me get up late. I'm also on mirtazapine. Dulexotine is also an anti-depressant. I'm on 60 mg at night. I take prescribed nefopam in the morning and sometimes at lunchtime but not always. I don't take the nefopam at night. I find the dulexotine is good at controlling the pain. I have lost some weight since I came off the AWFUL pregabalin. Lost about 1/2 a stone in two months. Dulexotine doesn't make me over eat. I eat normally now. I do sometimes feel a bit nauseous in the morning but it isn't often and pretty minor. I'd give dulexotine a 4 out of 5. But everyone has different reactions to any drugs. Good luck. Best wishes Golly
Hello I've just started duloxetine a few weeks ago. I felt very nauseous for the first week but persevered and I feel so much better. Pain big improvement, sleeping better and mood better because I feel better. Everyone reacts differently. I just wish I hadn't put off trying it. Hope you find something that works well for you.
Duloxetine has been a life saver for me - after a disastrous 8 weeks on Amitryptiline and then Norotryptiline.
I had v weird side effects for two weeks - fixed pupils, clumsy, spaced out - but after 3.5 weeks it was like a switch - the pain just dialled right down and i am managing it but with some flares. The flares are a day long not months on end tho.
I think try it and see but stick with it for a month.
I've been on 20mg of Duloxetine for around 2 months. Side effects tolerable, has definitely helped with low mood and anxiety, not so much with pain yet but I'm told it will eventually. Sleep has improved but not quite there yet. I believe Duloxetine is the go to for fibro at mo 🤷. Worth a try, I'm just impatient when waiting for these things to work lol!
Hi I was on Gabapentin then pregablin for12 months. I put 3 stone on in that 12 months, which made my symptoms worse.
Doctor then weaned me off and put me on maximum Duloxetine 120mg a day. My weight came off n my pain is much better on Duloxetine.
Give it a go, good luck.
Hello, my experience with duloxtene has been postive, 100 per cent worked for anxiety which many can suffer with this condition and does take the edge of my pain, good luck with getting something that suits you xx
Thankyou so much everyone! It’s so hard isn’t it, wish there was just a magic drug that just helped everyone! An easy option!!!
Well just spoken to my dr, the weaning off of gabapentin starts! Can feel it being a long few weeks lol!
Thanks again!
I'm on gabapentin and it really helps me, 200mg, 3 times a day
I’ve been on gabapentin for 2 years & I just feel that along with all the other meds, I still shouldn’t be in this kind of pain constantly. So started researching & duloxetine keeps popping up. It’s so good though that you have found something that helps you & eases your symptoms. Just wish we didn’t have trial & error all different meds!
hi, I’m on 60 mg in the morning and 30mg in the evening obviously alongside other medication. I have found that the duloxetine does help but the only thing is that the gp replaced the citralopam I had been on as I have anxiety and am prone to depression but I am finding that I have lost all interest in doing anything and am not enjoying my job as I did. The citralopam as I always say made me feel‘normal’ I understand the implications of being on this medication for too long due to its addictive nature but I have to say, I only said to friends/colleagues yesterday I would rather live my life than have however long I have left feeling no joy in anything. I have an actual face to face appointment on Thursday so shall discuss this with the gp then x
Hi, I have 60 mg of duloxtine and that really helps my fibro
