Hello Everyone ☺️

Was just looking to find out you’re experience with duloxetine and pregabalin and what mg of both works best for you?

Thanks

You can do a search on both medications to read previous discussions.

I've been on pregabalin for several years workout any issues - main side effect was weight gain, but the benefits outweigh the negatives. I'm currently on 200mg daily, but have previously been on 600mg daily

I tried duloxetine but couldn't tolerate it due to severe side effects.

However, it is important to remember that everyone reacts differently to medication and what dose works for other people, might not work for you xxx

I am on both, Pregablin I’m on 600mg daily and duloxetine 120mg daily. I have been on them both for a few years and find that they really help with my pain.

Hi!

Can I ask you does the pregabalin make you feel a little spaced out? I’m only taking 300mg but feel a little out of it sometimes

It did when I first started taking it but you do get used to it also I find that it really does helps with my pain.

How long did it take for they sort of side effects to wear off & how long did it take before you felt the benefit of the pain relief? Sorry for all the questions lol x

I’m sorry I’m not sure how long it took I think I just got used to the feeling of being a little spaced out I don’t really notice it now. My pain specialist told me that I needed to give it a good try and that I needed to be on it for a good few months to get the full benefit but for me I don’t think it took to long sorry I can’t be specific but I have tried to come off it but the pain was too bad. It really works for me I hope you feel the benefit soon.

HiI’ve been prescribed pregablin, I’ve only been on it 2 days so hasn’t taken effect yet. I’m hoping it’ll ease my back and rib pain.

in reply toBlun01

Hey!

Have you felt any better? X

Hi

I was in quite a lot of pain today with my ribs and back, I take zapain during the day also, seems to help a little. At night I take 2 amitryptiline, I sleep a little more with it but never a whole night, that would be amazing!!

I was on both for many years. Worked fine and helped with the pain. The only trouble is when, or if, you ever want to come off. Not too bad with the pregabalin (although my Siste-in-Law's personality changed whilst on this: she had really bad mood swings) but had real problems coming off the Duloxetine. Not much help over here; but much more help in the USA. May I kindly suggest you read up on a USA site for insight. Whatever you do, I wish you luck and hope that whatever you take helps you. Stay safe.

I found Pregabalin a great help for the pain, energy level and zest for life but it made my hair fall out which distressed me more than the pain. GP, pain mgt dr and rheumatologist prescribed Duloxetine, saying it was a good drug. After months I decided to go for it after feeling so depressed with pain but after 4 nights without sleep I stopped. I was also put off by horror stories I read on forums! Friends tell me I should have persevered till much body got used to side effects but I was scared. So still with the old fashioned Gabapentin which I’ve been on for years but think that is because I struggle to come off it rather than it does any good!! Been on it for years. Was prescribed Amytriptiline to take at night but haven’t so far. So nervous of taking things!!! I’m sure my GPs will get fed up of me soon.

Hey!

Thanks for getting back to me ☺️I have amitriptiline too but I only take it at night because it knocks me out lol
