Today as been the worst😫my mom went to hospital with stomach pains, within 5 minutes of me getting there I was told she's got cancer and is now in surgery 😞been waiting 3 hours now, you just never know wats around the corner, sorry just wanted to say

So sorry to hear your difficult news and my hope and prayers are with you, but you’re probably wondering how you’re going to cope. You’re fighting against the odds here, so please don’t try and be strong thinking you can sort everything out. Remember this will take it out of you on a major scale, so don’t be afraid to seek professional help. The hospital will, I am certain be taking good care of your mum, but your mum, bless her, being unwell doesn’t mean you are going to automatically get better yourself. I’m finding it stressful just thinking about you , so please remember to look after yourself. I hope everything goes well. Take care.

Feel deeply for you Punta as I went through the same with my Mum years back.
It’s such a shock to the system with all the emotions that arise in such a situation.
I hope she will soon be on the road to recovery.
Meanwhile, it will be super important for you to ensure you keep up the basics such as regular eating, top up with with a multivitamin and mineral supplement, keep hydrated and pace yourself with regular rest breaks and gentle walks, even if you don’t feel like it.
I hope you have family or friends you can share the worry with for support?

Punta, I’m sorry you are going through this. It must have been devastating for you, not just finding out about mum but the worry and the waiting to hear positive news from the health professionals. Try as best you can to stay calm . As you will know, any stress, anxiety will exacerbate your own pain… remember to breathe in threw your nose to the count of four and out through your mouth for seven.

Sorry to hear this Punta, I have an idea what you are going through as my mum has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, should have been treated 4 months ago but the hospital missed it and now it's too late for treatment. So no one knows what each day will bring, hope you mum pulls through the operation. Sending hugs

What a horrible shock for you, Punta. And for your mum. The team of nurses, surgeons and others will do the very best they can, but no harm asking angels to guide them and give healing and a good recovery to your mum. Make sure you drink enough water. xx

Best wishes to your mum and you xx PS I know about the not knowing what's round the corner because of my own experience with large brain aneurysm and later on stroke and my lovely fiancé took himself to A&E with stomach pain a few years ago and was found to have an advanced bowel cancer. Big surgery and eventually supposed to be clear then it came back again. Big surgery again, but thankfully, fingers crossed, touch wood etc all clear now. Fingers crossed for your mum.

So sorry to hear about your mom Punta, we never really know what is coming around the corner. Praying for her healing. I just noticed 44replies. Has there been an update since your initial post. Sometimes the posts are days old before I see them. I hope surgery is over and your mom is okay.
I felt your sadness when I read what had happened. Your mum having an operation is good news, they wouldn't operate unless they were sure it would be beneficial. My dear friend had a tumour, I thought I was going to lose him, they wouldn't operate until he had chemotherapy. That was 18 months ago, I look forward to reading good news about your Mum, I'm confident the hospital knows what will work. Keeping you and Mum in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs and love. xx

Receiving that news is really hard. I am praying the surgery went well and the outcome is better than first thought. We don't get to choose what life throws at us but we can choose how we get through it. You are much stronger than you think!

I would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone for your support, words can't say how much it as meant to me.There is an update about my mom, she had a tumour removed and some of her small intestines.
Today she is sitting up eating jelly......
My mom is such a strong person I'm so proud of her 💗

many people will also have prayers and love in their hearts for you,your Mum is in the best possible place, (Please dont take this the wrong way)If they took your mum for surgery they think they can help her,which is a positive way to see this.

Hiya, you wouldn't think that my mom as just had major surgery, Just got back from seeing her and she's had a walk around the ward also telling me that you dnt get enough tea in there😅😅😅she must be feeling better.....
