Hi Mark sorry you're having such a crappy time atm. One thing I've personally noticed is that when I drink alcohol I don't feel the pain so I try not to indulge too much. I come from a very long line of alcoholics so the odds are not in my favour haha.
Makes me think about a pain consultant once saying about natural pain receptors in your body lowering with long use of pain meds so I would imagine it works the same with alcohol. Eventually you will need to take/drink more to numb the pain even if for a little while.
Unfortunately I've noticed with fibro there's no quick fix, it takes time with research and trying things out to see what works for you.
Fibromyalgia feels like a lonely existence at times but just know we are all here for you anytime and know exactly what you are going through.
Hi, I have fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis so far 🙄I did used to enjoy red wine rather a lot and did stop drinking completely for 6 months.
I definitely did find some pain reducing side effects of no alcohol.
I do enjoy red wine so much I now allow myself 1 decent glass every night.
I think everyone is different but if you really enjoy it I don't see anything wrong with it I'm just extremely careful it's only 1 glass anymore and I'll regret it.
I think there is something to do with little or no alcohol, It's your call, but at the end of the day you just have to step back and look at yourself without a drink and no hangovers and starting to look after yourself or lose a weekend and trying to hoof yourself around realising your hurting yourself , Only you can decide,i hope you make the right choice for you,
