hi I hope everyone is okay today. I am having a meeting with HR and work tomorrow and I am worried about it, I hope it goes well but I have not been able to return to work yet due to fibromyalgia and anxiety issues. I tried twice to return but I was overwhelmed with anxiety and burst in to tears. I told work and I thought they understood but I am worried about my job and whether I will ever be able to return. I just hope that I get through this meeting and I don't have to give up my job, I put in a claim for pip but was turned down twice and wonder if there was any other benefits that I could possibly get.
thank you ❤️

Hi Fibrogirl41 I hope your meeting goes well. If you are in a trade union they can support you in this process. Have you had a recent occupational health assessment.
It is important to take good care of yourself. Think what help you want,
hi I have had the meeting and it was OK but I am temporarily being let go and the said when I am better and have my head on straight I could come back x
Hey there, you need to put yourself first. If you've been employed for over 2 yrs and have a DX then your employer cannot terminate your employment. I haven't been to work for 3.5 yrs now. The best advice I received was here, even entertaining the thought of going back has a negative impact on your health. Forget about work and concentrate on your health and balance, foremost. When applying for PIP you need to consider the multiple denials, reconsiderations and appeal/tribunal as part of the application. It took a year for me, I repeated myself over.. and over until the tribunal. It is possible and there's a lot of info on a site called benefitsandwork. Look after yourself, your job is making you ill.
hi I have just had the meeting and I have been temporarily let go for a little while and they said that when I am better and have my head on straight I would be welcome back x
You really need them to define 'temporarily let go' as they can't let you go unless you agree(equalities act 2010) They may say welcome to come back,.. but get everything in writing. You could for e.g start back and not qualify as being employed for 2 yrs - which gives you rights. Depending on your contract you should be paid SSP at the very least. Some employers pay 2 months full pay and 2 months half pay before SSP. There is no limit on how much time you can take off, don't be bullied back before you're ready. I stressed myself out about trying to get back and it didn't help at all. I don't know your employer.. but most want rid as it's a liabity for them.. it took a while but I realised my emoyer was there to support in words only. Get everything you've agreed in writing, HR will have a 'provess' for long term sick and it's not to care for employees! It's for the best for the business. If you need any help ive been through all this. Don't trust your employer on face value
