Good morning and welcome to our group😊 I suffer with swelling of the ankles. It comes and goes. The foot pain is a nightmare but I do have plantar fasciitis which Imo neither are fibro related.

I have battled with fibro for 40 yrs and can only give my own personal opinion.

Swelling of most things are either due to inflammation or water retention. None of these two things are fibro related. Also swelling of the ankles and feet could be down to been over weight, medication or bad circulation.

I would strongly suggest you talk to your GP and hopefully they can help you deal with the problem xx

Yes, it's always worse if I haven't moved for a little bit of time. Then it's like cranking up the gears trying to release them!

Have you tried soaking your feet in Epsom salts or a bath if you can have one?

I also find magnesium spray really helpful anywhere I need it. I know it doesn't help everyone but it might be worth a try.

Weighted blankets can help a bit for sleep and restless legs.

Another one that sometimes helps me get a few hours sleep is Vicks on the soles on my feet alongside my magnesium spray.

Just please remember to wash it off in the morning before you get in the shower or you'll be like Bambi on ice - I know from experience 😳

Hope you find something that helps 😊

Ps. Stick a pillow under the bottom of your mattress, should raise it enough to make a difference to leg swelling but not enough that you'll notice!

Good advice for. Dizzy about seeing your doctor about any swelling , I had this awhile back and turned out I needed too go on Blood pressure meds so glad I got checked, I do have CFS with my fibro so I always feel like I’ve got a cold or flu coming sometimes and ache all over, and obviously the down side of chronic fatigue which kicks in when ever. Perhaps a good catch up with your doctor and make notes of current symptoms along side the swelling x

I call mine FIBRO FLU, i never know if its fibro or real until its to late, only thing different for me is no sneezy, runny nose. Then its fibro flu for me. SWOLLEN legs, ankles and feet. I have diabetes, and they call my swollen legs LYMPHEDEMA, it could be water retention, press thumb down has it left an indentation where u pressed? Or has it sprung back quite quickly? You need to rest legs ELEVATED on cushions or something. But at the same time you have to keep MOVING around go for a walk, i wander around the house i use 2 sticks. Mention it to your doctor. When my leg first swelled they found a DVT so you see it can be 1 of a few things. Im OVERWEIGHT since ill too, that doesnt help. ASK YR DR. I have CHRONIC FATIGUE but ive suffered INSOMNIA for years. If i knew what tell you may help, id do it myself . I only sleep 2hrs straight if im lucky in 24hrs. Try relaxing bath, no bath? shower will do. Dont be doing anything stressful at night thats going go spinning around yr head, Freshly made bed and a little cool so you snuggle down comfortable it soon warms up. Low easy listening music, not loud enough to disturb you if you drop off. Dont eat anything to 'heavy' before bed. Read a book, do a jigsaw, watch a lighthearted film nothing to rowdy. LAVENDER is supposed to help relax. Cant remember anything else i were told. GOOD LUCK.
