hi everyone, I hope you are all ok x I still have a lot of anxiety and have had some sessions of cbt which were ok but could have done more. I am getting up in the morning and feel dizzy when I get up, and I sometimes feel like my legs are going to buckle and I can't seem to stand up on them at times, I had to cancel my appointment with the physio and things because I felt funny, it is really hard and getting me down I keep getting these weird things and I will try to talk to the doctor and wondered if there is a pain clinic for fibromyalgia and how do you get referred x I hope next year is better than this I have had it for nearly two years now x I hope it gets better x sorry for the rant but I know you all understand x😊❤️

Some kind of vertigo and feeling a bit down 😞❤️
morning, sorry you are feeling so bad, if you feel you need more CBT, you can do it free online, hopefully you will find some different tools to help you.
I hope your anx eases soon, it’s not easy.
Take care.
hi thank you ❤️ I hope so too x I will try to see if I can get more cbt sessions x
I had sessions with a psychologist professor, he taught me a lot, I got referred through the pain clinic, which your doctor can refer you to, the pain clinic has a lot more information and can prescribe you medication, without their hands being tied, like our doctors. Good luck ❤️
Hello , we differently can relate and feels better sometimes too let it out, keep plugging away with your doctor as the anxiety is still lurking around, I did cbt over the phone years back but it didn’t work for me and I ended up having 6 private sessions where I made notes of how I was feeling , then the thing that worked 100 percent was getting on the right meds, I had some anxiety the last couple days it is not pleasant is it☹️I picked up another viral thing going around which has laid me up and felt low, I am able too double up my medication if need be (which I have ) and I tried some breathing excercises I found in the internet last night. I also have a lovely friend who has popped in made me homemade soup and I let it all out , she lets me txt when I want too and she’s really in tune with me bless. Xx
hi thanks for your kind message x ❤️ did you have to take anxiety medicine? I am a bit wary of it as I have had bad reactions to the medication and pain medication in the past x I am glad you have a friend who is kind I don't really have many friends but I like to talk to someone about it sometimes x 😢😊
Hiya I get dizzy spells in morning but all day too, I take blood pressure meds which according to doc that can happen. My legs go wobbly and my knees fall forward and feel like I have no strength in them. I am trying to make them strong by knee high exercise just any kind of exercise from YouTube. I am scared that one day I could not walk its always playing on my mind. I would see the doc to get investigated though. Hope you have better days ❤️
Hi, I feel exactly the same. At the moment I have sinusitis and taking antibiotics which seem to be making me feel worse. Doctor also said my blood pressure was high but it could be caused by the infection and pain I am in. I also have very tight neck muscles, I see an osteopath every week who does dry needling and massages my neck. I think the sinusitis is making this more uncomfortable and I feel very dizzy and completely out of it.
Do you have any problems with hurting neck/shoulder? Just I have had 27 years of vertigo / dizziness on and off from trapped nerves in neck that gives these symptoms , and when really bad fits ( were extensively investigated). A month ago I had the worst dizziness for decades as a cardio decided to change my BP drug from indapamide to Bendroflumethiazide… likely something to do with way drug alters water and salt level of blood, whatever did not suit. So just two potentials of cause of dizziness!
Hey I find it helpful to stretch and massage the legs and feet before getting out of bed. So knee tuck and leg raise, pull toes back. Cat and cow yoga positions on the bed then squats and leg raises, back kicks while brushing teeth.
It sounds like you are suffering from some level of Dysautonomia ( Autonomic Nervous System Dysfunction) , or if it happens when you get up and down after sitting for some time, or when doing exercises when you change position , you could be suffering from P.O.T.S , each are more commonly linked to Fibro than doctors recognise. It can also be linked to Ear problems , labyrinthitis, and sight issues so having an ear check up and an eye test can rule out these possibilities. Iron , Vitamin B 12 and other nutrient deficiencies can also cause these problems , especially after a long period of flares or an infection or if you are on certain types of medication.
Increased physical feelings of Anxiety , like breathlessness , insomnia , over alertness and beating in the chest ( palpitations) with no obvious , immediate cause around you can also be a symptom of this autonomic dysfunction, not Mental Health issues alone , as your Autonomic Nervous System is responsible for your " Fight and Flight" and "Rest and Digest" responses and these can go into overdrive. These symptoms can make the Fatigue and Pain levels of Fibro much worse.
The symptoms can be helped with Self Care techniques. Drinking cool water quite quickly just before you get up , sit or lie down or before , during and after physical activity with a lot of position movement reduces the dizziness and vertigo. It is a mainstay of the treatment of P.O.T.S . It's very important first thing in the morning when you get the biggest change in blood pressure and heart rate from rest mode to action mode outside physical exercise . Sit up in bed , then drink , wait a moment , drink, then sit at the edge of the bed , drink again , stand and pause , drink again then go on your way.
Have your Kidney Function tests checked . You may be low in Sodium or Potassium which can cause dizziness and supplements can be started to correct the balance. Some people need more salt as they drink more water but you need to have this checked before you start increasing salt.
Compression clothing can also help improve the circulation and regulate your temperature to stop any drop in blood pressure causing raised heart rate or dizziness.
A combined vitamin and mineral supplement including Magnesium helps too taken after your fattiest meal of the day for better absorption.
Delibarate slow breathing , relaxation techniques , making slower head and body movements and pacing your day do make a big change in these symptoms.
Getting back to physio will help but explain you have P.O.T.S like symptoms and ask to do repetitions that are slowly built up in your comfort zone with less movement of head positions. Try walking , just little strolls , even just at home at first. Exercise bikes , rowing machines but not long sessions , gentle pilates stretching and Tai Chi. Swimming is also good but have a water bottle near the poolside to be given to you to drink as you stand by the side before leaving the pool as the change from swimming to standing can make you feel dizzy.
If the symptoms persist or get worse despite using them daily over a month go back to the GP and request more tests related to the possibility that you have P.O.T.S linked to your Fibromyalgia. These include repeat kidney blood tests , Vitamin D , Vitamin B 12 , liver function tests , Folates and Magnesium. You should also request a Holter Test for 48 hours to see if P.O.T.S changes in your heart rate , not blood pressure , are present and need more help. If it gets to that point , please post again or feel free to send me a message so that I can give you some tips on how to do the tests right and how to check the results.
Take care , and remember with these types of symptoms pacing is everything, it is the steady tortoise that wins the race not the hectic hare. Bee
hi thanks for your detailed reply x I have had all the blood tests done especially for kidney function, magnesium and the folate etc and they came back normal thank goodness x I will ask the doctor about it and see what she thinks and I will let you know how I get on x I hope I will be okay x 😊 ❤️ 😢
Hi. I went to see a physiotherapist and I was told to exercise. I have severe pain in my spine due to having osteoarthritis. Like you my legs are buckling becoming very weak. I stumble alot. In all honesty I think it's related to arthritis in my spine.I have had xrays for arthritis, also knees are bad. Sorry I am a bit vague but I am not sure anything can be done about it. Regards Terry.
