As the water is really warm in the hydro pool and you will have been exercising you may have become a bit dehydrated. This happened to me the first time so I made sure I drank some water before the session started the next time and some more as soon as I got out and was much better. Hooe the hydrotherapy helps you.x

Hi there,

Glad you are getting to talk to your GP about it. Did you let your physio know at the time how you felt. They are used to dealing with these situations and would have been possibly able to advise you at the time. I'm not sure if you had fluids before you went in the pool ? Because of the warmth of the water and the exercise it is possible to become dehydrated and feel dizzy although as I know from experience that dizziness can be can be a result of many different things. You should always have fluids before and especially after your hydrotherapy session to help replace fluids lost eg if you go in steam rooms, sauna's and jacuzzi. Hope you get some answers xx

I felt exactly the same as you describe when I made my way out of the hydrotherapy pool at the hospital. My legs felt really heavy and strange but it did pass very quickly and I was able to dry myself and get dressed without difficulty. The physiotherapist explained to me that most people experienced the same heavy feeling coming out of the pool and it was something to do with the bouyancy of the water making your body feel lighter for the time you are in the pool. I found the hydrotherapy sessions to be particularly helpful and their positive effects would take the edge off my joint pains and stiffness for at least a week. Unfortunately the NHS in Norfolk would only offer up to a maximum of 6 sessions. After that, you have to find a suitably warm pool and self fund, if you can afford it.

hi thanks for your kind message x I do find it very beneficial to me although we have had to pay for it and it is expensive, but I felt it is very important for my health. I am lucky to have people helping me out with the cost but I couldn't have afforded it all myself, and it is such a shame that you can't get many sessions on the NHS. I hope you are ok and maybe get some more x
