Morning , recently I have had sore and itchy eyes especially by the end of the day so I’ve been using eye drops too help, never had this in the Autumm before , I did wonder if it’s because we’ve had the central hearing back on and this causes dryness, I’ve been for an eye test recently and that was fine ,mite be allergies, have you been too the opticians lately ?might be worth getting checked there 1st xx

Hi I do get dry and itchy eyes, but all OK at my recent eye test. I haven't put it down to Fibro, I think it may be a side effect from my meds. Maybe see your optician and have a word with your GP if you are worried.

Hi

I have Sjogrens syndrome along with fibro.

worth checking out with your medical team.

I was allergic to eye drops and saliva replacements given on NHS but found some great eye drops with a long shelf life.

take care

try taking xyalin night at night before bed. It’s quite greasy so your eyes will be blurry for a few minutes but it’s great for piling the eye and you can buy it over the counter.

yes I get them too. I use dry eye drops which do help. I think you get dry eyes as you age. Mine water terrible in the cold weather when I’m outside. My optician diagnosed dry eyes

I don't think it's fibro... quite a common aging issue sadly

Hello, I'm new here. I have dry, itchy eyes too. I do have allergies and the anti-histamines are really good but the dry, itchy eyes started this year during the heat wave. I buy eye drops from the chemist and they help. I've read some articles which say the eyes can suffer in this way due to fibro but I've also read some which say it isn't or it's age-related. I'd suggest talking to your doctor. Hope you can get it sorted. Best wishes.

Definitely talk with doc about thyroid. Thyroid can cause so many different things and mine with allergies also.medication can cause issues to eyes especially dryness. important to take in fluids and cut out caffiene. best wishes

I recently learn't from my new Optician that when we blink some of us do not blink fully all the way down. This means the protective tearfilm does not spread so effectively. Mine was a about one full blink in five. The meibomian glands in the eyelids can get less effective as we age.

When my eyes are dry, itchy and/or unfocused, it helps me a lot to warm & massage them to increase tear flow by

rubbing my hands and cupping them over my eyes, then

stroking (gentle gua sha) with a jam lid above and below, middle to outside.
