Hello, is anybody on here take gabapentin and started having double vision and find it hard to focus normally?

I started having problems in november all spesialist didnt seem that botherd by it, but it bugged me.

So i booked an appointment with optition, i havent needed to go before, he said that there was no cause for concern.

Anyway i have read up about gabapentin and it says a side effect is double vision.

Hi sue i have,

Last time i went with a few things she said it might be my meds, but i hadnt been to the optitions then, as i thought made something was really wrong with my eyes. But he said there wasnt but he would give me some glasses as my right eye is slightly bad and he gave me anti glare on them for headlights and sun.

So i now think it is the gabapentin, typical as its helping me on a daily basis. But i dont want to wreck my eyes so its another thing on my list for her next week, I ma going to need half an hour at this rate lol.

I have been having problems with my right eye since the end of August 2011. Currently on a 6 month course of steroid drops. 3 months in and getting double vision. Went to see an optician today and he advised to ride it out as it could be to do with the steroids. Interestingly he asked if I had arthritis and when I answered yes and fm he said that unfortunately eye problems are an offshoot of auto immune diseases.

Thankyou barbykins,

Hopefully it wont be the gabapentin then as its the only thing that has made some difference for my pain. xxxx

Hi trish, Yeah mine are really bad but the optition said that he cant see any reason for it, Its maybe something i will have to put up with for the pain relief. Even though nothing is working today.

Hi, yes i had double vision with gabapentin, changed to pregablin, and the same thing happened. Reduced my dose and it stopped, but yes it is a vicious circle, be in more pain or vision problems.
